You could potentially have the same level of noise with a sell out as you do a half-sell.

This topic got me thinking and I think there are several ideas that could be adapted fairly easily.

1. When I was there the student section used to pick the other teams point guard, and repeatedly chant his name or somtehing about him every time he had the ball. It was hilarious and clearly irritating. I remember chanting Wallace-Wallace for almost an entire game and then once chanting Mullett for the PG at Central Michigan one year. Both were hilarious and effective. The other teams PG routinely got out of his game and would talk to the crowd.

2. One Idea would be to chant Zoomba...Zoomba.Zoomba...To the Jaws rythym. Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba is just way too long. The band plays the dunt dunt/ dunt dunt- speeding up rhythym I beleive. So it would not be hard to add

3. Whatever Idea you choose the easiest way to get the whole student and fan section to follow suit would be to get the band involved. If you have the band do it screams of legitimacy. They will always be at games and can always do it.

4. Something with a falcons wings I think would be a good idea.

5. I think the cheerleaders should also line up in front of the three sections on the floor ad hold up 3 signs Ay. Ziggy. and Zoomba. Having each side yell what there sign says. Like B-G-S-U but better.

6. A hilarious thing I think would be to have a student dress up like the guy in GI Joe who was the Raptor or falconer or Raven or whatever any body remember. A mock Falcon head above his with wings that come down and are tied to his hands. Have him dressed in the outfit with no shirt but his body painted. ETC ETC.

When I was a young band geek in high school, we always picked one guy and anytime he got the ball we yelled "Monkey boy! Monkey boy!" over and over and over. It really threw him off. And pissed the refs off, but I can't figure out why. ;)

I think you have great ideas Germainefitch1. Coming from a cheerleader's perspective, I like your idea about tryin' to get different sides to yell different chants or songs. Maybe that's the key.........some fans need a "visual aid" in order to cheer along!! Its so difficult sometimes to get crowd response. I have a guy put me 12 to 20 feet in the air to do a simple cheer and people just stare at me. We try to get in the crowd's face during timeouts or get people on their feet, but the sit down and rest during these opportunities. This doesn't make sense to me!!!!Not everyone of course acts this way, many people are faithful falcon fans, but sometimes this is the case.

Anyways, I think your idea is great. I'll see what I can do!! If anyone ever has suggestions or comments about the cheerleaders, I'm certainly open for feedback!! Anything to increase Falcon support at games!!!!
Always there to cheer on the Falcons.......GO BG!!!!

I tend to sit down at these times. Of course my knee starts cramping up from standing too long and sitting is the only thing that helps :D Sorry to assist in ruining the energy!!!

I would agree that these times the arean does and in my opinion should get quiet- time to rest. Go ahead and have us yell out LETs... GO... FALCONS or something, but don't expect us to get up and scream.

My dissappointment with the crowds, cheer leaders (not cheer squad, just fans that get things started) is the considerable amounts of time in a game when it is quiet. This is exemplified when road teams such as WMU and TU have a handful of fans that are clearly audible and loud during a game.

I understand why some people sit at timeouts, but I do notice that when the energy is at its highest or if the game is close, the crowd will not sit down during the timeouts!

Regardless, as long as the crowd yells with us when we cheer, I have no complaints about the fans! For the next game we hope to try some new things with our signs and we have another idea, for doing a FALCON spell out on the floor that we practiced last year. "Might as well give it a try" Thanks for supporting the cheerleaders! Two years ago we got the whole BG XX SU thing going!!
Always there to cheer on the Falcons.......GO BG!!!!

I was the one who came to Grant about the band idea for BG. I NEED help in order for it to happen. We have to send money for the bands to have them sent. I know I don't have that kind of money lying around. I was thinking we could do pre-orders at a home game and then hand them out the next home game when them come in. I also would like to see if we couldn't make a bit of a profit and then donate to the SEBO from azz.com. I don't know who to get ahold of to ok this AND I don't want to be the only person taking care of the matter...I'm sure we would get a TON of orders. I even have a sample braclet...and I think that they should say unfalconbelieveable.

Those bands that say unfalconbelievable are just rubber bands with ink though. It comes off if ya wear them enough! I say lets use that and go heavy duty style!!
