Good Hands?

Post by Salsa »

From what I can tell, Vandermeer has good hands. But those of you who have seen him more would know much better. What do you think?

If he does have good hands and can pass, I would expect they would try to get the ball to him much more. Toledo has been vulnerable to inside play. The little left handed hook Vandermeer made against Ohio was a nice move and showed good touch.

Vandermeer doesn have good hands. Something that Lefeld still doesn't quite have yet. Scott is definitly way ahead of Lefeld right now. Lefeld just has the bigger body.

I have seen a number of soft turnarounds and fades from Scott this year. I really think he could be a very good player for us in the future. I don't think he's ready to be leaned on real heavily quite yet, but he could develop into quite the offensive player.

I just really love his defense. He puts his hands up and is so long, that it disrupts anyone coming into the lane without fouling. He also does a good job in not jumping until the shot is released. Netter would constantly be in good position only to jump too soon and end up fouling a guy. Scott seems to have a better grasp on shot blocking.

He's like a giant wall. It was great seeing people do a spin move into the lane and then get double or triple-teamed into a trap just because they knew they weren't shooting over him! He's going to be great for the program!!
