That was the worst feeling I had watching BG since the Bowl loss to Tulsa. I'd like to see stats on
- yards after catch for WKU. It had to be 80+% of total passing yards.
- yards after contact for WKU would be another. Seemed like there were many times we didn't touch the receiver for quite a while.

I thought we were overrated and possibly underrating WKU but not to this extent. Our offense will improve and as expected was mistake prone and not real fluid yet. Babers has said several times we won't be at our best for quite some time on offense. Unfortunately depending on the defense to keep them in the game didn't work so well.

Pros
Punting, someone remarked about his punting being bad in a scrimmage. He did well last night.
Coppit. It is hard to say he should start over Greene but he needs more playing time.
Lewis, good looking freshman.
Dieter showed some YAC ability by breaking some tackles.
Perhaps we learned a lot....TBD

Cons
- Dropped passes, although on a couple I thought MJ should have put a little more air under it.
- Some uninspired play calling, 4th and 3 and we go for it after losing 2 yards the previous slow developing run play????
- Penalties (not counting the bad call on Martin for horse collar).
- Missed tackles and terrible angles of attack and overall scheme. As mentioned elsewhere....3rd and 23, we line up 5 or 6 guys just short of the first down, they run off tackle and get the first down because we gave them the first 15 yards.

Oh well, its along season. I'd hate to be those kids on the ride home. It has to feel terrible. The coaches have a tall order getting them to a healthy level of confidence and competence for the rest of the season.

Let's hope WKU rolls Illinois next week.

When Babers was hired he said he wasn't going to go back and watch any film from last year. At the time I understood the point he was making with his forward thinking approach. This was his team, he was going to make decisions based on what he saw, etc. That said, if Babers isn't going to go back and watch, maybe McCloud should.

24 hours later and I'm still stunned by how much we missed tackles. Felt like I was watching a Brandon coached team out there. Didn't think having Clawson and Elko leave would mean the players they brought in would forget how to tackle with them no longer here

I can't even begin to imagine our defense re-watching tape from that game because it seemed nearly every passing play turned out to be a disaster. They'll be watching tape all week to get through that game.

But aside from bad technique and fundamentals, we didn't help matters by essentially sitting in the same base coverage for the entire game. All this talk about attacking and putting pressure on the QB, where was it??? What would it of hurt if we actually sent a blitz after that QB, he was picking us apart regardless. If all of us in the stands and watching on TV could see what was unfolding, how could our coaching staff sit there and make what appeared to be no adjustments to try and counter it? That is the part I am most puzzled by,

If this is the best defense he's been around, I'd sure as hell hate to see the worst.

Wisconsin averaged 10.7 yards per rushing play today! Think about it, over 10 yards per play! They averaged a first down for every play they ran the ball. My God....
