Around the MAC

Post by MarkL »

UMass - early second they are stunningly hanging with BC.
UB - just getting started.
Akron - huge win.
Kent vs Ohio - evening
That team down south - just getting started.
We laid a massive egg.
That team up north - evening.
EMU - evening
CMU - close win
WMU - played very well against a terrible Purdue team so hard telling.
BSU - easily winning at halftime
NIU - huge win.

To me, UMass is a huge surprise. They're down 3-0 early second.
And I hope somebody other than us lays an egg so we're not the only egg-layers, even if it is bad for the conference.

Ohio with a MAC East road win at Kent State right out of the gates. We used the same scenario last year (but in week two) to springboard ourselves to Detroit. OU will now sit atop the East for awhile all alone. Obviously the biggest win in terms of importance for any MAC school this weekend.

Be glad you guys don't have to go to Eastern this year. Easy win but I was there last weekend. I don't know what was worse, the team's play(maybe the worst d1 team I have ever seen), the team entrance or the field. The grey field hurts they eyes, makes pictures hard to take and it is the only place I have been where you need sunglasses at night to cut down the glare.

5 of the 6 top finishers in the MAC last year opened up Week 1 at home against easy I-AA teams to get their seasons off to positive starts. We were the only ones not to. They'd have to lay eggs on their own (which is still apparently possible) without a rooster like WKU helping the process along.

True dat. I've been to a couple BG games there and it is one sad environment. Being 7 miles from Ann Arbor certainly hurts as well. I saw that entrance on the field.

Field? I thought they were running on to a parking lot.

Personally, I like what they are trying to do. I thought the entrance was pretty cool, and I think the grey field is an interesting idea. There isn't much tradition at EMU, obviously, and these ideas can set them apart from the pack.

Also, I see Western Michigan is back to wearing brown again. Smart.
