What is up with FBS QBs from Ohio?

Post by MarkL »

Braxton Miller, out for season with shoulder injury before the season starts
Matt Johnson, out for season with thigh injury after one game
Phillip Ely, out for season with ACL tear after two games

The rest of the FBS schools in Ohio better get their backup QBs some serious reps. Either there's something remaining in the water from Lake Erie or there's an Angry Ohio FBS School Star QB Hating God, just like the Angry Iowa Running Back Hating God.

Toledo did have a water crisis in August.

How much of a crisis that actually was is open to discussion...it might very well have been a power play by the Ohio EPA to force the city to tke their recommendations seriously. In other words...he issue may have been political rather than public health.

If the politics were to invoke some change to actually correct the ongoing problem of treating our great lakes as our personal dumping ground then I'm all for it.

If the politics were to scare the public into voting more dollars to build newer, better, water treatment plants for Toledo then I'm not so for it.

Fairly certain it'll end up being the latter moreso than the former, but we can hope. The algae has become an issue over the past 10 years (as it was in the 70s). It's high time the people in government start coming up with solutions rather than "discussing the issue".

Discussing issues and seeming to care gets you re-elcted...actually going out and addressing the problems creates work for people and who the hell wants that? That gets you un-elected
