I thought we'd get blown out and I happily apologize for the blowout I predicted.
While there were moments of great frustration and consternation this was a very impressive victory, and I just want to congratulate the team on a gutsy win with some great plays, particularly on offense, but also a few from the D and certainly from Tate too.
I think going on the road next week against a team the caliber of Wisconsin will be a different story, but this is a great win for Coach Babers and the team and without question it's going to be an entertaining season...and load up on your blood pressure medication.
Bravo Falcons! Bravo!

I've given this team/coach a hell of a time so I'll gladly take my medicine. Don't have time to read all that has been said but a great day to be a BG FAN.
Hell of an effort. These were the games the Clawson staff would lose. Kudos.

Crazy...amazing...awesome game. The kind of game that will create some buzz and get people to come out to the Doyt.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I said the same thing as we were leaving, flip. Wat more could you ask for? Gorgeous fall day with a packed house because of the opponent. Then we go out and give the casual fans one of the most exciting games I've seen in the Doyt in years, and pull out a win over a school everybody knows.Flipper wrote:Crazy...amazing...awesome game. Great stuff, and exactly what I look forward to throughout the Babers tenure.

I said the same thing to my daughter...easily the most fun at the Doyt in years. It was EXACTLY what I thought we'd see when Babers was hired.

Re: Congrats and Happy to Apologize
I was on here bitching up a storm after the WKU disaster -- so I'm back to sing the praises of this team and the coaches after that very exciting win.
There is no quit in this team, and that's about the highest honor players can give a coach. With the injuries and the horrific start, this team could have easily packed it in. They didn't. They came out and got off the mat, and then delivered a TKO when they weren't even expected to be in the fight.
BG's QB is growing up quite a bit before our eyes, and showing that the prior staff had an eye for talent; and the current staff isn't afraid to take someone else's recruits and help them grow.
I'm still a bit frustrated with the defense but, honestly, if this team can continue to play offense like this, I do believe they can repeat as MAC champions on offense alone. They just can't afford to have an off day.
So congrats Coaches and Falcons! That was a beauty you painted on the field today, and one that will have a nice reserved spot in my Falcon memories for the rest of my life.

Effin eh. I am digging this guy. Yeah, the D needs work...lots of it. We have a ways to go but I love Coach's enthusiasm. Coach sent me a nice letter back after I mailed that "cupcake" article from the Cleveland Plain Dealer to him. When BG beats Akron, I'll make sure Elton Alexander has a cupcake waiting for him after the game.Flipper wrote:We wanted then to FEEL US!!
