This is embarrassing. Team has quit. Keep talking about your great offense though Dino.

Game is clearly completely out of hand. I'd like to see the offense put something together though to at least not go into conference play humiliated on both sides of the ball.

BGGrad01 wrote:I like the offensive strategy. It makes sense. The problem I have is that the schools that made the system popular don't even fake wanting to have a decent defense. I hope babers is different and his staff actually spends some time recruiting the defensive side, but I'm not holding my breath. The "we'll out score everybody" won't work every week. At some point, you'll need a defense that's more than 11 warm bodies.
The problem is that it is impossible to look like you've got a good defense with an uptempo offense. They will always play more plays, give up more yards, and give up more points. However you expect the defense to still make a few stops and force some turnovers.

Unfortunately today they are absolutely getting shredded with horrible angles and worse tackling. Combined with the offense that gave up its opportunity to put a scare into Wisconsin. When the offense sucks you're gonna get blown out. When the offense sucks and the defense can't tackle it is going to look real ugly while you get blown out.

And most disappointing is so far since midway through the second quarter I'm not even seeing the effort.

He better be pretty pissed at them. The defense gave them opportunities early to make this a game and make Wisconsin feel them. They didn't capitalize and the defense folded up.

He should be pissed about the effort in the second half. Shows what the players think of the coaching staff.

Hambb,
I know what you're saying, but the true weakness in this off. Is that, while you would think you're never out of a game, reality says if the def. can't make at least a few stops, teams just " pin their ears back" and kill your off. Rhythm too.
This is obviously a mismatch but can't believe Gordon is THIS good, despite Galloway putting him into the hall of fame. And BG has come out a thoroully beaten team.

I think that's quite a stretch. I'm upset by the effort as well but it's hardly an indictment of their confidence in the coaching staff. Especially a week after our biggest win in years.

The effort more shows what the players are made of. Not showing a lot of fight when they're getting whipped. Dino threw in the towel too though.

Pretty clear that everyone in orange is just counting down the minutes. Very disappointing, but I don't think it says much about their opinion of the coach.

They got 4 stops in the first half. The defense fell apart when the offense didn't hold up their end. They were playing ok until knapkes turnovers put the game out of reach. The effort since has been abysmal, but once they occurred we weren't winning anyhow.

If it were me I'd be playing the backups at this point.

This game is a train wreck, but that doesn't make him a joke.

Brian, Ohio people love defense, and last year we loved seeing what we waited years for to happen. The new style of football irks me personally. It has been obnoxious to watch all season. I didn't even enjoy the Indiana game. I understand from the sort it was a great experience but why wouldn't it be? We beat a big ten team at home. On tv though, that s**t was garbage. I'm sitting in a bar in South Carolina and people are buying my drinks cause they're embarrassed for me. Give me defense every day.

The open field tackling is horrendous and way too many Falcon Fast 3 and outs. I know the defense is banged up, but with this type of play, winning the conference will be close to impossible.

For those keeping score at home, EMU currently has more points against MSU than we have against Wisconsin... That's pretty bad.
