On tv though, that s**t was garbage. I'm sitting in a bar in South Carolina and people are buying my drinks cause they're embarrassed for me. Give me defense every day.
I'm from ohio and defense is boring.

More importantly we'd be getting drilled in this game if we were a defensive oriented team as well. The score would be closer but we'd still be out of it completely.

Take the defensive style of last year all you want, but the. Fact remains that style was 1-4 against ut, and an 0fer against bcs competition. This is the future of football and when Babers gets the offense doing what it should nobody will give a rats ass about the defense because it will be fine, they'll still give up 30 points a night but it won't matter.

I would rather watch Fran Drescher read the screenplay from the Sisterhood of the traveling pants than watch this defense.

And what I saw last year was a team good enough to win the Mac, but couldn't compete outside of the conference. And that, to me, was the absolute ceiling of that type of football at bg. I want more, and offense is the only way to be more than that.

What if we were a...."hey here is how to tackle and maintain your lanes on special teams type team."

I don't think you have to pick one or the other.

Didn't Babers say this was the best defense he had ever been around? That's scary.

We definitely have more missed tackles than actual tackles.

This game is a train wreck, but that doesn't make him a joke.
It is obvious that you do not like Clawson. But your boy Babers is in way over his head. Just because he had a record setting QB at E. Illinois doesn't mean he can coach. This is the worst display of football I have seen since Brandon losing to Tulsa or any Moe Ankney team.

This is a total embarrassment. This team will NOT win more than four games this year and will lose to Toledo for the fifth straight time.

He has set BG football back years in only a few months. He is a joke of a coach.
Never hated clawson. He was perfect for what we needed to clean up the train wreck Brandon created, and he did a fine job. I couldn't stand his X's and O's but he was very good as a coach of that style.

I just think that style has a limit on what it can be and last year was it. Babers made garoppolo into what he became and if he can do that here we can be so much more than clawson ever would have. This board is a joke calling a guy in over his head and a joke 4 games into his tenure, one of which was a huge win as a big underdog.

I understand how weak this sounds but I'm going to say it anyway. This system makes games take forever as well. Every game through week 4 is right at 4 hours. Sorry but I'm not dragging my 4 and 6 year old to game to sit for 4 hours. I don't have the time for 5 hour rounds of golf and I certainly don't have the time for 4 hours of inconsistent offense and nonexistent defense.

You don't. I'm not apologizing for the play of the players. I think it's ridiculous everybody is blaming Babers for the defense when there is almost nobody left from last years defense. They played like s**t today and it has me upset, but I'm far more upset by the failures if the offense. Had they made the plays available to them, as they should have, this game would have been close at half.

I disagree that we can't have a competent defense with this system. Even in the first half we weren't playing well. Wisconsin seemed to make an active effort to keep us in the game.

Our PPG average will naturally increase because the other team will get more plays/possessions but the defense still needs to be reliable.

Just wait for the 1 game that oregon' offense doesn't click this year. Guarantee a loss because they don't even fake a defensive effort.

Agree that the offense didn't do enough to keep the game in reach....if you're going to okay a Baylor offense...you have to score.

That said...our defense has just fallen apart. I was glad to see Turner back because he looked like a quality player his 1st year here. Now...not so much. He takes the worst angles to the ball of any safety Ive seen and he's a very poor tackler. But then...hes hardly alone)
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Why does that matter? The best we can ever do is win the MACC and then the bowl game.

This type of Offensive scheme only works if you can convert 3rd down, which against decent teams this year we have been unable to do. Image what you're asking our D to do today when our O goes 3 and out, runs 50 seconds off the clock and the D is back on the field against a team that is big and physical up front and can grind our D down. Being falcon fast and going 3 and out is really putting a strain on our D, although our defensive scheme of playing our cb's 10 yards off the LOS, missing tackles, and stupid penalties isn't helping much either.
