UMass fan here and will post more closer to game time. Meet an old couple, who followed the women's basketball team to Amherst. Well you will be the first team and three years to play on campus. It will be homecoming as well and hoping for a sell-out. We traditionally have a huge walk-up crowd so there should be plenty of tickets for some time.
In fact posting now since tickets went on sell Friday. Visitor team tickets should be at the end in section 10, next to the new performance building. If they are not free MAC tickets, then suggest you peek at Ticketmaster and check with your ticket office for the best choice.
Here is the Ticketmaster page for our game and will stop by and answer any questions.
It's very small for FBS 17k. Hoping for a few sell-outs so plans will go forward closing in the end zone into a horse shoe configuration. Hoping that will be for 2016 expanding the capacity to 23.5 k. Of course we have a few other major challenges for 2016.
Tail gating is fun. There are a number of grassy areas for tail gating. Seen cars parked all over including the entire horseshoe coming into the stadium. Hope some of you have a chance to visit.
Sorry about your loss to WKU. We did well in the first half holding BC to 6 points, but the young defence wore out and BC scored 24 to our 7 points. Our offensive should slowly get better and expecting a closer game next week. Playing all P5 is no fun at all and then we have you guys.
Looking forward to a hard fought game. We had help from BC fans and attendance was 30,749. Next week will be more down to earth in the teens. Expecting a sell out for you guys and the home side is almost sold out.

Update Sept 6th.
We looked so much better than last week. Still some mistakes that Whip says will need to be cleaned up.
UMass 38 - Colorado 41
The 80% chance of rains with thunderstorms hurt attendance 10,2?? not sure exactly but it was way low.
Everything should pick up from here.
Hoping for good weather and see some you guys visiting.
If any of you are making the trip, hope to be tailgating across from the red lot handicap parking and by the 'C' in the Close To Traffic caption. If not there in time will be in the yellow lot. Always enjoy meeting MAC fans. Despite my strong dislike for the Bulls have been friendly with some of their fans at Gillette and up in Amherst, NY. There are some good Bobcat fans as well.
This is a dangerous game. UMass played four power teams in non conference play and nearly beat two, albeit terrible, teams. This is their conference opener and first actual home game in years. They'll be fired up hosting the defending conference champs. This has trap game written all over it. Our guys need to focus everything they have on all conference opponents.
MarkL has spoken.
You may all now return to your daily lives.
Does Umass have a TE. I hope not. That could be trouble. Also RBs. Do they employ the Running back in the offense. That could really challenge this defense. The running back was something that surprised us today against Wisconsin.
This game just got a whole lot more interesting. UMass is playing back on campus for the first time in years and there will be excitement about it. They have also opened with FOUR Power Five teams to start the year and really hung in tough with two of them (only lost by 3 to two of them). This was a game in the preseason that I felt very confident in, but now, I'm very concerned about.

We have a good one, but just got his 5 days of practice in before the Colorado game. So he has a limited play book knowledge.
We are dinged up running back wise but started the year pretty deep at that position. We have a pro style offensive and use the running back position.
We have a small stadium at 17k and the ticket master map is showing about 1k available seats. I suspect the true number to be closer to 2k as ticketmaster has been known to show additional seats as the game gets very close.
I'd be extremely disappointed if we do not sell-out this game.
This game has me concerned because I feel like we're about it walk into a trap, and the psyche of this team is fragile. To me, this game at UMass has the feeling a little bit like in 2000 when BG went up to Buffalo. UB, like UMass, was the MAC newbie and came into the BG game on an 18-game losing streak. Not only was Buffalo looking for their first win of the season, they were looking for their first-ever MAC win too. BG, like this year, had been pounded by a Big Ten team (Michigan) a few weeks prior that year. Of course, we all know UB upset BG and sent us reeling, Blackney said he was hanging it up and we continued a disasterous slide.
Now I'm not saying BG is gonna lose like that this year, but we are gonna get a big test from UMass. They are back on campus for the first time in years, they are reopening a renovated stadium, it's Homecoming, and they have played four Power 5 teams already and they will not be afraid or intimated by anything we have to offer. In fact, I bet they are chomping at the bit to play us right now - the defending MAC Champs - in the shape were in. Remember, last year we couldn't shake these guys for awhile and they had us clamped up before Moore finally broke one to get us going. They are a better team than last year and we are not. We'd better bring it Saturday or the season could officially come undone this weekend.
