Injuries?
Re: Injuries?
Not quite sure what to make of our depth charts this season, and we all know how Babers is going to talk/treat injury questions. Guys like Colvin and Lynch have remained listed atop the two-deep for a couple weeks despite not even suiting up or traveling for that matter. But for what it's worth, Gehrig Dieter isn't listed on this week's depth chart for the UMass game. Colvin and Lynch are still atop at their respective spots, as is Ward who didn't travel to Wisconsin.

Dieter is on the two deep...he's listed as a back up to...Jackson, I think
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Injuries?
You are correct, I missed that.Flipper wrote:Dieter is on the two deep...he's listed as a back up to...Jackson, I think

Yeah..I don't know why I even bother to look at the two deep in the game notes...it's not like they update to reflect any sense of reality

Re: Injuries?
Agreed. Made the same comment myself. I'm kinda surprised Matt Johnson was actually removed from it.Flipper wrote:Yeah..I don't know why I even bother to look at the two deep in the game notes...it's not like they update to reflect any sense of reality

Re: Injuries?
I listened to Babers presser this week and know he doesn't talk about injuries anyway, but does anyone know of the updated status of some of our guys for this week?

Re: Injuries?
The NFL makes coaches disclose if someone has a cough and we've had people listed on the top of the depth chart for weeks who haven't even dressed for games.
Re: Injuries?
From the ST:
INJURY REPORT: Defensive end Zach Colvin, linebacker DJ Lynch, wide receiver Gehrig Dieter, and defensive back Ryland Ward all sat out of practice Wednesday. None of them are expected to play Saturday.

Re: Injuries?
My guess would be that Babers is telling the SID to leave them there to keep from giving our opponents too much information. Not saying I necessarily agree with that strategy, just saying I'm guessing that's the reason those guys are still listed.mscarn wrote:The NFL makes coaches disclose if someone has a cough and we've had people listed on the top of the depth chart for weeks who haven't even dressed for games.

Re: Injuries?
I'm sure that is exactly what's happening. I just wish we could have a little info thrown our way. I understand and respect the whole privacy of information concerning the health of our players, and Babers clearly isn't going to say what's wrong and how long they are out. I just wish we knew the timeframe for some of them. If you don't want to say what they actually hurt (like their knee, arm, shoulder, etc.), I understand that. But it would be nice to know if we could see them back in a couple weeks, several weeks or not likely to play again this year. You can say that without disclosing what's actually wrong. Take DJ Lynch for example. We all saw his leg get rolled into and assume it was a knee injury. If BG/Babers doesn't want to disclose what the injury is, I get that, but a possible/potential return would be nice to know. I also don't know how many students are on here, or how many people go on the field after a game, but you could also just ask the guys themselves when you see them. We talk to players all the time after the game and they have come right out and said what's wrong, what they did and what happened. It's their injury, if they want to tell someone about it, they can, and if they don't want to say, they won't.threestooges wrote:My guess would be that Babers is telling the SID to leave them there to keep from giving our opponents too much information. Re: Injuries?
Any word if we might get any of our defensive guys back for Buffalo?
I believe I read Dieter will be back with the WRs.
D has not looked good, getting back some of our starters will be HUGE.

Ward broke his wrist right against IU right? Frankly three weeks later he could probably play if the wrist is cast up well.thewebboy wrote:Any word if we might get any of our defensive guys back for Buffalo?

Re: Injuries?
This week in depth chart gymnastics: Ward, Lynch and Colvin are listed as starters. Martin has moved back to outside linebacker and Senn has been moved back to middle linebacker after starting last week on the outside.

Boy, we sure are fooling offenses with that 2 deep.
