Baseball non-conference opponents for 2015?

Post by BGSU33 »

Anyone (Factman) know of any non-conference opponents that BG baseball will be playing this upcoming season? I assume we'll have our usual spring break trip to Florida but was wondering if anyone has heard of any three-game, non-conference series updates as well.

I saw EMU already released their schedule. Looks like BG will be playing EMU in a pair of non-conference games on April 8th at EMU and April 14th in BG. We have done this before with other MAC West teams that we are not playing series against.

Not a non-conference series, but Kent State released its schedule and KSU will host BG on May 8-10.

I believe the schedule is all done, with the exception of the Spring Trip in Florida, March 9-14. It won't be posted for some time, but you can always check on the Russ Matt Baseball site. I don't remember all the details, but I believe we play Campbell University in NC on the way down to Florida, March 6-8 and open at Southeast Missouri Feb 13-15, and go to Moorhead State the following weekend..

Located in beautiful Buies Creek, North Carolina. Maybe a 30 minute ride over to Spiveys Corner (home of the National Hollerin' Contest).

When I was taking classes at Fort Bragg, there was a guy who introduced himself as a UCLA grad. His wife slapped him and said, "You graduated from Campbell!" His response was - Yeah. UCLA - University of Campbell between Lillington and Angiers 8-) Guess you had to be there.

Campbell was the home of the smallest Division I Basketball facility in the country up until a few years ago = The Carter Dome. Seated about 900. Reminded you of the small high school gym in Hoosiers. The D-III school I worked at played there once and our cheerleaders were not allowed on the floor because they had no room. Had to cheer from the last row, Rockette fans would have hated the place (since they think size matters).

Very strict Southern Baptist institution (Southern Baptists do not recognize each other in the liquor store or at Hooters). Buies Creek is a dry town and so is the campus (yeah, right). No opposite sex visitation in the residence halls. Men stay outside of the women's halls and women are not allowed in the men's halls (yeah, right).

Best Campbell bumper sticker I've seen -
If you can't keep up with the Camel, get the hell out of the creek!
