Great drive there to seal the game. 5-2, 3-0.

MUST get the penalties under control. We got the win but that needs addressed.

Absolutely. Everybody knows we haven't seen close to what this team has to offer yet we are 5-2.

Roll along.

And to me Knapke had his worst start. I had ESPN3 issues so didn't watch every snap but he looked like he wasn't feeling well or something?

Still got the W. Wx is currently 57 and sunny for WMU.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game so I'll catch the replay next week. From what I've seen of stats and the final score, it looks like I pretty well nailed it in my preview. I think I'll do one of these for future opponents too.

But, apparently not enough. Falcons later got three unsportmanlike conduct penalties after I posted that.

The defense has improved. I believe Todd Walker said Ohio ran 110 plays today. That's insane. And the Falcons held the Bobcats to just 13 points. That's a heck of an effort.

But the Falcons clearly still have work to do. This wasn't Knapke's best game.

513 yards given up. Improved a little for sure. 13pts is solid.

The fact that we came out and punched OU right in the mouth at the start of the game was huge. The fact that they were down 14-0 after 3 minutes really took the crowd out of the game and made it a tall order for Ohio's anemic offense to try to keep up with us. They were able to get first downs on us all day, but when push came to shove, our defense was able to make sure they couldn't make the big plays needed to pick up huge chunks of yardage and touchdowns. Most of our other opponents have been able to do that. Credit to the BG defense for stepping up in red zone situations and really making OU have to chase the game all day.

With victories over OU and UB (bonus in that UB went down to lowly EMU today, lol) BG is now firmly in the driver's seat as far as their own destiny is concerned. Akron is really the only competition left within what has turned to be a really crappy East Division.

I agree. It was nice to be playing out ahead like that without facing an uphill battle. For most of the name.

What are you talking about? This was not a good effort. We played a very bad team and still gave up insane yards. If this team gets in a bowl it will be ugly and I mean Tulsa kind of ugly.
