Not this year. But Northern Illinois played on New Year's Day. Why not us?

I agree, and that is my goal as well.

One reason I'm willing to go through the growing pains...I believe Babers's offensive philosophy gives us the best chance to get there.

You may be right.

It was fair to debate whether blowing up our old offense and going this route makes the most sense. But that was a debate for last winter. It's a done deal now and it has been for a long time. Babers isn't going anywhere, nor should he.

I think it's silly to blame Babers for that loss Saturday. Western Michigan is an up and coming team. We saw how they almost beat Toledo. We are basically in the same place as we were a year ago at this time, despite some serious injuries all over the place, including under center.

I had my doubts about whether Babers and his staff knew what they were doing on defense, but the team has put those doubts to rest for me these past two weeks.

The Dr. can hate on Babers all he wants. But, there's no way Matt Campbell said any of the things the Dr. attributed to him. Even if Campbell thinks Babers is the worst coach in the world & Toledo will beat us by 7 touchdowns, there is no way in the world that he'd say that to anyone, much less some yahoo he sees in Churchill's. The UT-loving Dr. can troll all he wants, but he's insulting the intelligence of everyone else who reads this message board, as well as the integrity of Coach Campbell, by making up quotes like that.

I never said its not possible play in a New Year's bowl, this year it won't happen but its possible with the new system if we were to ever run the table.

I really don't care what you think. I am a BG grad who has been to far more football games over the years than most people. Coach Campbell has a running bet with the manager at Churchills, who is also a BG grad, that UT will pound us. He shops there quite often and is very open to conversation about football. Last year he admitted they were very lucky to win. He said BG was very talented, but needed a more athletic QB to win. When Johnson won the job he predicted we would win the East. Coach Campbell was very humble with the win last year. However, he said he does not fear Babers gimmick offense. For people to get upset over comments is hilarious to say the least. I am sick of losing to Toledo, but the streak will continue this year.

I like the offense philosophy but there are many schools running a version of it now. That competitive advantage is going to lessen over time. The defense has been horrible- even against ohio we basically go lucky with the inept bob kitties. Last wek was a step forward. I like this coach and hope he can turn the ship around. Clearly on D we do not have the personnel to cover. I hate to say it but turdelo will beat us by at least 14.

How does Coach Campbell say the Falcons will do in the other three games remaining? Also, does he say the Rockets are going to win out?

Do we go directly to the NCAA with information about betting on the part of the Toledo head football coach or does that go through their compliance office? I'm asking on behalf of Rick Neuheisel. If nothing else, we can get Campbell to switch to Kroger.

Been awhile since we had a troll. Welcome troll.

I am all for the system or a system to close to it. I was suggesting for us to run an offense similar to Auburn's while the 2013 season was still going on. What I do have a problem with is how how this system looks. Through 8 games we have yet to see them look good in all 4 quarters of a game. The Indiana game was the closest thing to 4 quarters of really good football for the offense. It sucks that Johnson got hurt as maybe we would look way better with him. Regardless I think there is a problem if you can't find a way to get the ball to Moore, Greene, Coppet, Lewis, Burbrink, and Jackson. There is a enough talent there to make a bad QB look good.

It is encouraging that the defense is showing improvement. I thought we were headed for the record books after the 5th game so it's great to see them play closer to their expectations.

I've noticed this too, the opening drive always seems the fastest since its scripted and the plays have obviously been run all week in practice. The offense has struggled at times after that initial drive of keeping things going. I think it's no surprise that Knapke may not know the entire playbook yet and thus the coaches are limiting the plays being called. The last couple games have been cringe worthy at times with the offense. They look completely lost sometimes.

I didn't read through the 4 pages of trolling. But, I'll share my sentiments on the program and Dino. There was some grumblings from the stands about things at the end of the Western game.

The guy is 5-3, has beaten a Big10 team, is currently in sole possession of the MAC East and has the team in the drivers seat to get to Detroit for the 2nd straight year. He's done all this in his 1st year with a radically different offensive and defensive system, breaking in a young o-line, losing the preseason player of the year after 1 week, his best defensive player for a month, and his best defensive lineman for the year. Ok, then.

Oh yeah...next year coming back he will return -
20 players on the current offensive 2 deep (both losses are at tight end) + Matt Johnson + Chris Gallon + 5 star recruit Ronnie Rhodes.
Special teams returns, kicker, holder, punter, long snapper, kickoff specialist, punt returner, both kick returners.
Defense returns 12 (possibly 13 if Colvin is given a medical redshirt) off the 2 deep and will be experienced after all the injuries to seniors this year.

Sit back and enjoy folks.

Oh...and mark it down, BG beats UT by 10 in the Glass Bowl and then by 14 in Detroit. :drinkers:

Speaking of grumbling from the stands 137, I'm about ready to call the ticket office and ask if I can have my seats moved. The guys that sit behind me are absolutely awful. Doesn't matter WHAT Dino decides it's wrong. They spend half the time arguing about how terrible he is. Then the other half talking about how much they hate him because he's just going to bolt for a better job after this year. EVERY SINGLE WEEK.

Oh and they bitch about it every time we go for it (even if it works). Then after every home win they've been complaining about how "You can't feel good about this win!"

It's like I sit in front of the guys that started this thread...

Ha! What section are you in? Last week was the first time I really noticed anything. Around me, it was more grumbling about some of the decisions later in the game.

I don't like bashing fans, especially season ticket holders at BG (lord knows we need each and everyone). But, I don't understand the ones who just want to show up, sit on their hands and be grumpy.

A lot of it may have to do with how brash Dino is and the way he reacted about the fans after the IU game, I'm sure a lot of people are still getting used to the complete 180 he is from Clawson. Different in every sense. Personally, I love it.
