AZZ Meet & Greet at the Schott

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

Some of us were chatting during the BG-ut game and decided we should set a place and time to meet during the Friday and Saturday games. There are different groups going one or both nights. It was decided that meeting in the hallway outside of the Hall of Fame (across from the store?) would be a good place. I haven't been there in a long time, but that sounds ok to me. How about meeting between periods? BGFan and I will be there on Saturday night. What do people think of this idea? Opinions and suggestions welcome!!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Saturday

I think it's a great idea... what time are you getting there Saturday? have you bought your tickets yet? how long will you be standing around outside?

I will have my large family and a "Jordan for Hobey" sign attached to me for the night! Go Falcons!

My tickets are taken care of already, but if you get there in plenty of time, you won't have to wait outside, they have a big rotunda area where the ticket windows are. I am not sure how early we will go down, but hope to be at the rink, oops, I mean areana, by around 6 or so.

Sounds great to me too. Will be there both nights as well. Having never been there before I don't know exactly what place you're talking about, but I'll do my best to find it.

If you just walk around the perimeter of the lower bowl (probably the only place they'll let anyone sit anyway), the gift shop is hard to miss. As in "impossible" to miss. Even if you get on the wrong side of it, it's not all that big to walk around and look for orange. :D I'll be there Friday, but I don't know if I'll make it out for a meet and greet, though I do plan on having my long sleeve ORANGE BG shirt on!!!

Also, they just posted an "official" gathering after Saturday's game at the Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe, sponsored by Falcon Club, open to all.

I'll be there on Friday, and am planning for pre and post game beers on 3rd Avenue in Grandview Friday night, though after the game, all bets are off as far as where we may end up.

yeah, its pretty sickening, though there are a couple places on the same block (Wendy's/Tim Horton's combo, actually), and within a mile down 5th Ave (right out of the HoF Cafe and another right between the BP and Marathon stations) to grab a cheap bite. Beer prices might be a little steep as well, but domestics shouldn't be much more outrageous (in the back, by the video games) than most places. I haven't been in there in years, though.

We must head back back to BG right after the game, so won't be able to go there either. Our son has a game on Sunday in Cleveland at 1! Lot's of hockey miles on the car this weekend!! All worth it!!

I have been told that they have a 'family-for-pack' deal where you get 4 tickets, 4 cokes and four hot dogs for $40. I also have it on good authority that Friday is "Buck a Brat (as in Bratwurst) Night".

Just to clarify...

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

.....since two different "hall of fames" are being talked about here. The meet and greet I originally posted about wasn't for the AFTER game gathering at the Buckeye Hall of Fame Restaurant, but between periods during both games to say hi to one another. Any AZZ poster interested, stop by the area (Hall of Fame area near the store) and we can chat!! Looking forward to meeting some new AZZ people on Saturday!!

Well, I'm not leaving BG until 5:30 if I'm lucky...so by the time I drop my friend off in Delaware I definitely won't be in Columbus for the game tonight. I kinda figured this much.

I will be there tomorrow night! I hope to get to meet some of you guys tomorrow!

GO BG!!! Beat the Bucknuts!
