I find it very hard to believe that an "IT professional" still uses Internet Explorer.

Re: IT help : bgsufalcons.com
I was using two full soup cans & a long piece of string, and was experiencing problems with the site. I couldn't see Berge's postgame video, and I was getting soup in my ear. I figured out a simple and tasty workaround -- dumping the soup into a bowl & putting it in the microwave -- and now I can enjoy all of the videos on BGSUFalcons.com while having a hearty meal. It's win-win!Falcon Fanatic wrote:+1Freddie wrote:I'm getting along just fine with two empty soup cans and a long piece of string.

Believe it or not, there are many facets of IT outside of the internet. I work in an internal, corporate IT department and NOT on outward facing web sites. Most corporations are slow to change primarily because they are 3000 lb. gorillas and are resistant to change, therefore IE is still very much prevalent in the corporate world. This is true not only for my current position in a much smaller corporation, which I took almost two years ago, as well as in my last job working for a huge corporation with world wide facilities. For example an email was sent out just last week telling people NOT to download and use Firefox because our intranet (not internet), web based applications do NOT support it causing them to not function. Basically, any browser other than IE is currently banned.OrangeAndBrownTown wrote:I find it very hard to believe that an "IT professional" still uses Internet Explorer.
FWIW, I never claimed that IE was the superior, bestest browser in the world, just that it is still used and should be accounted for when designing web applications. ANY good IT professional worth their salt would and should agree, regardless of how painful it may be for them.

wow, this thread lives on.
in the multinational IT shops where I toiled, it was common knowledge that two empty soup cans and a piece of string offered fewer security holes than IE.
thrash the nanooks!

All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

"Critical Thinker" That's a laugh. Your name belies your true nature; unless, of course, you spend your time criticizing people that you know nothing about. Although that would just be "Critical" because there is obviously no "Thinking" going on. If you were truly the "Critical Thinker" that you believe yourself to be then you would conclude that you would not be using the technology that you speak of if your elders hadn't blazed the trail leading to it, not to mention still developing it. When you reach the age where you realize that, perhaps your moniker will be appropriate. Until then, it's just words that don't fit anywhere except in your inflated ego.Critical Thinker wrote:old people talking about technology lol

This is a bit like witnessing a school cafeteria catfight between two junior high girls arguing over which has the cuter boyfriend.
