Re: ouch, Alaska
I figured they were going to be one pissed off bunch after getting swept at Bemidji last week.
We need to put a knee on their throat and choke the daylights out of them.

So, it they finish in playoff position the #9 finisher will make the tournament?
Wow, that's harsh.

Re: ouch, Alaska
Now if we can get Ferris, Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, and Mankato to all be ineligible for the post season too, we may be able to get a regional berth.
Re: ouch, Alaska
Never, ever, wish ineligibility problems on any school. Also not wise to laugh at the misfortune of others in this regard. Lord knows BG has had our share of problems.apollo wrote:Now if we can get Ferris, Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, and Mankato to all be ineligible for the post season too, we may be able to get a regional berth.

Re: ouch, Alaska
Isn't that saying that we couldn't get to the regionals without 4 schools being ineligible?apollo wrote:Now if we can get Ferris, Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, and Mankato to all be ineligible for the post season too, we may be able to get a regional berth.
I think we're more than capable of getting there on our talent and work ethic. PERIOD!
GO FALCONS!!!
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEP THE NANOOOOOOOOOKS!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Re: ouch, Alaska
I could have this wrong...but from a quick check, looks like BG will pick up wins for the following seasons:
2007-08: +1
2008-09: +1
2009-10: +1
2010-11: +2
2011-12: +3
not the best way to get wins, but we'll take 'em.

Re: ouch, Alaska
Vacated wins are not the same thing as forfeitures. Alaska loses credit for the wins, but other teams don't get "additional" wins. The Wikipedia on vacated games does a decent job of describing the NCAA's definition of vacated wins: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia: ... _victories" target="_blank

Re: ouch, Alaska
I agree that gloating is unbecoming. But I would add that Bowling Green has never had a major infraction in any sport, as far as I know.pdt1081 wrote:Never, ever, wish ineligibility problems on any school. I'm really proud of that.
Re: ouch, Alaska
That is correct. And something to be proud of. But there are definitely many cases of embarrassing events that have taken place over the years, with many getting national coverage.Schadenfreude wrote:I agree that gloating is unbecoming.
