Nice win fellas! Good teams find ways to win games (and the cliché police may now arrest me).

Defense had a few off drives but ultimately the D won this one.

Offense was awesome when clicking but consistency has got to improve. Though I have to wonder if part of our vanilla look was to not give Campbell anything new to review before the big game next week.

I will see you all in Detroit!! Time to beat three straight west teams.

I think it was more about not having their top two running backs, and not being able to consistently run the ball like they wanted. Givens did a great job, but both Greene and Coppett are guys that have a bit more quickness to hit the hole and break a long run. Not having them has stifled a part of this offense.

Let's hope Greene is back for the guys Up North. They'll want his quickness, and I think BG can run on that team if they have their top guys in the backfield.

I still say we have terrible offensive play calling, but our defense came up huge with 4 INTs!!!!

MAC East Champs!! Looks like I am going to make another trip up to Detroit.

First off, congrats BG! That was a hard-fought win. It wasn't pretty but a win is a win. Also, gotta credit Kent State too. They gave us all we wanted after falling behind like that until the very end. That team didn't quit.
GO BG!!!

Absolutely. They lost by 3 to Ohio and NIU, 10 to us and the school up north, crushed Army. They are better than 1-9.

Back in Cleveland...what a fun night...currently celebrating our Mac East title with some Pisanello's Pizza! Yeah it looked like it would be a blowout early and we let our foot off the gas offensively which made it interesting, but a win is a win. We have now gone 2 years in a row without losing to a Mac East opponent. When you do that, that makes it a very easy road to Detroit.

I'm good, don't know about you guys...I'll be really happy if we finally get the scud monkey off our backs next week.

Oh and globetrotter bashing the band?! Smh! The band didn't sound any different tonight than any of the other 30-odd home games I've been to over the past decade. The FMB is a commitment to excellence in presentation and musicality, and a very important facet of our gameday experience. Those BG students deserve better from us fans.

AGREE! I'm not a fan of the gray, especially since it's NOT ONE OF OUR SCHOOL COLORS!!!!
And I will not apologize for preferring our school colors over other choices. Ever.

I think Globe is bi-polar. Bashing the band????? You just won the Dip of the Week award and Chris Carter C'Mon Man Award. You seriously pissed off probably 90% of the board. Then you criticize the team and then say 'you love this offense' 30 minutes later. Make up your mind. Your starting to sound like Birdman and Falcon Boy. May as complain about the fans not standing up and we can put you in the same class as Dustin. Needless to say your comment about the band pissed me off too!!! Go over to the Buckeyes message board and bash their band too and while your at it, go to the Bobcats board and bash their Marching 110.

Nice knowing you Globe.

They don't go with brown. They would be great for Syracuse. They aren't good for us. Wish we would burn these things or donate them to EMU.

This was not a pretty win, but I did think Knapke looked good making deep throws in a way I had not noticed before. In that last drive, those deep passes to Ryan Burbrink and Roger Lewis? That impressed me.

A. Making fun of mental illness is pretty awful and par for the course for you.
B. Talking about Chris Carter who is about as terrible as it gets when it comes to commentators isn't surprising. I bet you love Mike and Mike in the morning. They have not had an original idea for about 5 years.
C. I said I love the talent on offense. And I criticized the defense.
D. Why don't you stick to telling everyone on the internet how many DVR boxes you have?
E. OSU's Band is great. We should strive to be like them. Maybe Hire John Waters.

Knapke made some VERY nice deep passes in this game, and also missed quite a few, unfortunately. That pass down the sidelines on the very first drive was a thing of beauty, dropped it right into the bucket between the CB & S in a cover-2. The long TD to Lewis was also a perfect pass, although I have no idea what the hell the safeties were doing...sitting in cover 2 deep but let Lewis split them and when they turned to follow they were both running in quicksand by comparison.

The throws on that final drive to Burbrink & Lewis were also absolute Money.

Unfortunately, folks criticizing the playcalling, it's NOT the playcalling throughout the game. Knapke is looking very limited right now...it's either a quick hitter/screen, or he's looking deep. There were intermediate routes being run all game long (often by Ronnie Moore who somehow managed only 2 catches). Our QB either doesn't look at those routes, doesn't see them coming open (and they were), or cannot make accurate throws. Those routes also rely on perfect timing between the QB and WR, and other than a few instances where he seemed to find a rhythm that is not a strong suit either.

Knapke is doing as good a job as we could have hoped filling in for Johnson, but he looked VERY limited to me last night. He hit a few deep balls, which is great because it should at least open up the run game (when we have our RBs), but he just cannot hit those timing patterns the way Johnson did. Thankfully, he hit enough of those deep passes to get us a double digit win and lock up our division.

Given the insane amount of injuries this season, and acclimating to entirely different systems on both sides of the ball, I cannot complain about 7-3 and MAC East Champs.
