Chris Pohlkamp to Sioux Falls Stampede & BGSU

Post by poltergeist »

future Falcon? ;-)

"The Herd did not have a pick in rounds 4-6, but returned in round 7 to select right defenseman Chris Pohlkamp (117th overall) from Brainerd, MN. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound de-man posted 28 points (10g, 18a) in 21 games with Brainerd High School. The Lake City, MN native also skated in the Minnesota Great 8 Festival and on the Minnesota Seniors. He is the brother of former Fargo Force forward Matt Pohlkamp."

New recruiting strategy: sit back, relax, and make the players bring their siblings in. It's working well, I guess.

I wonder how much of that "Brotherhood" mentality rubbed off on Bergeron while at Miami.

Without researching, for a lot of guys college is the only chance they have of playing with their siblings on the same team.

Good God, I hope not!
Want nothing to do with the Thughood!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I love this:
"It's just kind of perfect," he said. "They weren't too flashy about everything. They were pretty straightforward. They said they really want you to come here, but they want you to come here not because of what the rink looks like, and not because of how nice the campus is. They want you to choose Bowling Green because you want to be a player there." :supz:

GO FALCONS!!
SWEEP THE BEAVERS!!!!
