BG V Wright St
Re: BG V Wright St
These first two games are the type of games we would find a way to lose in prior years. I am sure we'll still lose a few we shouldn't and win a few we shouldn't also. But I think a head coach makes more of a difference in college basketball than all other sports. This could be fun the next few years.

I love how Coach Jans subs alot, then rides the hot players when he finds them. Holmes on defensive end in second half was terrific. Wright St. couldn't get anything but a 3 point shot even attempted.

We're 2-0 despite gettting nothing out of Gomez....think of how good we'll be when the big fella gets untracked!
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: BG V Wright St
Jans is probably waiting to unleash Gomez, and the 10 or so plays he has designed for him, around MAC play.

Way too early for this...but realtimerpi lists our RPI as 28 through two games. Just imagine if that's still our number 3.5 months from now! That no NCAA streak will be saying goodbye.

As long as we win the MAC tourney, the streak ends.bgsufalcon24 wrote:Way too early for this...but realtimerpi lists our RPI as 28 through two games. Just imagine if that's still our number 3.5 months from now! That no NCAA streak will be saying goodbye.
If you think the NCAA Committee will reward a MAC team because of the RPI, you're crazy. They would prefer to award a P5 squad with a mediocre overall record and losing record in conference play than a midmajor squad. They need that money to add to the millions they receive from the football playoffs, their conference television network, and the Adidas/Nike contract monies.

Toledo had an RPI of 36 last year and wasn't even considered on the bubble.

................but that was turdleeedo!
Re: BG V Wright St
Exactly. BG could go 32-1 with an RPI of 1 and the lone loss being in the MAC Championship game and the NCAA selection committee would come up with a reason to keep us out. We're only ever going to the NCAA Tournament when we win the MAC Tournament. Period.BleedOrange wrote:Toledo had an RPI of 36 last year and wasn't even considered on the bubble.

Fear not Birds of prey, I watched your guys in person at Drake , and caught a lil bit of the Wright St. game on video. It's a process and in some time. Chris will have them in the hunt for hardware. Much like at WSU he will build a team that will thrive in tourny environments.
ps. new here , sorta. Been lurkin about since last April after ya'll got HCCJ
