WHY ARE WE OFF FOR 28 DAYS

Post by gmartin »

After our series this weekend we do not play for 28 days!!! Why??? Can anyone explain. And when we do play again it's against Robert Morris.

We don't return to WCHA play until Jan 9, 5 weeks from now, and then we play 9 consecutive weekends where other teams have 1 or 2 bye weeks during that 9 week stretch. Also, when we return on Jan 9, some teams will have played 6 more conference games than us. True we have games in hand and can catch up in standings but looking and seeing a team 6 or 8 points higher than us could have a negative effect.

Anyone know the reasoning of the 4 off weeks while other members are playing every week?

I completely agree. wtf is going on? Why can't buy weeks be spread out? We're going to go into that important non conference series against Robert Morris completely cold. Hopefully the boys don't build up rust.

Happy Holidays to the team, I guess.

As BGFan informed me we had a series scheduled for next weekend at Michigan Tech but was rescheduled. We still would have had three weeks off. At least we play 2 non conference games before we get back into conference play.

Considering final exams are coming up with the week of Christmas immediately after, this makes complete sense to me. Plus, if we didn't have the outdoor game on Jan 3, we'd probably be playing in a holiday tournament, giving us only 3 weeks off. It's just an odd year, it'll probably go back to normal next year.

we were originally scheduled to play Ferris over Thanksgiving and have a bye in Feb., but we agreed to the switch so Ferris could add Wisconsin. Ferris got a tie and loss out of that deal. ;-)

We had the option of playing more games thanks to the Alaska exemptions but I don't know if we could find any opponents to come to BG.
