Chris Pohlman's replacement verbals to BGSU
JUCO TE Derek Lee...caught 18 passes and had 11 carries scoring 4 TD's in the process....

Has ONEyr. Of elg. Left....we're gonna use a TE next yr. when we basically ignored that pos. this yr.? I'm really starting to wonder about Babers and his approach. Hope i'm wrong.

Like it. I was thinking the other day that we need to take a page from the Bill Snyder playbook and go JUCO heavy for a year: offensive line, wide receiver, defensive line and linebacker. Our OL coach has ties to the Kansas junior colleges and could probably get the heads up on some of the better players. Look at where our passing game could have been without Kamar Jorden and Eugene Cooper a couple years back.

He's Chris Pohlman...a big blocking back who can run for short yards and catch the occasional pass. We have a need for that kind of player since Houston left and Pohlman's leaving

I think Pohlman proved he couldn't catch "the occasional" pass in a few games this year...Flipper wrote:Class of 61 wrote:Has ONEyr. Of elg. My point on this regards how "hard" it's supposed to be to master Baber's offense.... will a kid who basically flunked out of one school, went to a JC to get grades back up, will learn this offense and it's nuances that quickly? If that's the case, i.e., hitting the JC's, then at least get some kids with TWO yrs. of elg. left. As I said before, I hope I'm wrong.

I don't think blocking, short yard ball toting and the occasional float down the seam with your hands in the air will require that much working knowledge. It's not like he's the QB and WR who have to make identical reads and have the same timing on a play.

Good size. 6'4 255. That would be a massive short yardage back. Didn't we have a tight end decommit last year because Babers told him they weren't going to be using a tight end. That would make 4 tightends on next year's roster.
Have to wonder if they are considering moving someone like Folkertsma to the other side of the ball.

He had at least a redshirt yr, then played, then had to go to a JC, but graduated in HS in 2011 I think, so his 5 yr clock was running. Again not sure but if you read article, it's his quote.Globetrotter wrote:Interesting, I didnt think that was possible.Class of 61 wrote:Article on Hustlebelt quotes him as saying he has only One yr of elig.
