Who cares if they got pasted by UConn? They beat us.bacn3 wrote:This is awesome, i wish tu fans would come over here more often, instead of after they win all the time. Anyway what happened to that "best TU men's basketball team in a generation" i saw that commercial the other day and about lost itYou guys were at better team at this point last year at 16-5... what are you now 11-10, wow must be a short generation!!
"The best TU men's basketball team in a generation" got off to a rough start, but I think they're in a first-place tie in the West Division. Sounds a lot like their football team that got off to a bad start, but ended up winning the MAC. I hate to defend UT and I think they have a .5% chance of winning the MAC in men's basketball due to their inept coach and player's lack of discipline, but they whipped us in the second half at the Glass Bowl and they outplayed us in both men's basketball games. Let's deal with it and kick their butts in every sport during the spring, at the Doyt next fall, and in venerable Anderson Arena next winter.

While 2/3 of your statement is true, I do not see where they outplayed us in the first mens game at Anderson Arena. The blew a 17 point half-time lead. That was not outplaying.BGGrad01 wrote:... but they whipped us in the second half at the Glass Bowl and they outplayed us in both men's basketball games.

BG Girls Are Ugly?
So at Savage I saw a young rocket fan of 18 or 19 years old with a "BG Girls are Ugly" t-shirt on and so I quickly pointed out to him:

When I suppose an older Rocket fan just heard me say that part and responded to me "I heard BG guys are too" and I was like ummm ok yeah I"m easy, at least your daughter thought so... what a moron.

That was about the only thing that brightened up the second half of that game, when a fairly attractive BG student walked down the aisle, and some fatty in the UT student section yelled "BG girls ARE ugly!"Finally in 04 wrote:Thats a funny comment to make! Did you happen to look at ANY of the girls at the UT/BGSU football game wearing the "BG Girls Are Ugly" shirts??? I thought I got lost and ended up at the dog pound instead of the game...
Um, sweetheart, go find a mirror. But don't look directly in it, you'll go blind.

I think it’s about time I retire from the BG board till the next time we meet.
And Mcmetz if you want to "bring it" we can, I assume we will meet at your favorite place the all you can eat buffet!
Good luck the rest of the season, I hope we can play one more time this year!

Nothing wrong with buffets. I'm sure you have been to one before as well or you wouldn't know what they were.Rocketfan9 wrote: And Mcmetz if you want to "bring it" we can, I assume we will meet at your favorite place the all you can eat buffet!
No one on this board wants your insults in any manner. Just go back to jail...

12-year-old comments would be more like calling someone stupid or fat. Ya know, the ones your rocket friend is making.TJRocket wrote: "bring it... any time any place" What are you? 12?

maybe if you would've won the West, or even beat us for that matter you could've shown us how it was done.I loved that "win a bowl game chant" ( that i started), come on you guys posted of of the lowest points in MAC football history,

Ummm I am no literary genius or linguist by any means, but I think he is implying that your team was billed as the best in a generation and it hasn't even got the best results in the past 10 heck even 5 years of Rocket hoops.Shrakkrocket wrote:bacn3 wrote:we're currently tied in MAC west with you, so...are you implying that we suck?Anyway what happened to that "best TU men's basketball team in a generation" i saw that commercial the other day and about lost itYou guys were at better team at this point last year at 16-5... what are you now 11-10, wow must be a short generation!!

allow me to inject an outsiders prospective from the BG sucks and Toledo blows dialogue.
To be totally impartial, Savage Hall does indeed suck. I get the feeling they started with one color of chairs and then as they broke over the years they replaced them with whatever color they could order cheaply for their arena. Their ushers and attendants were slack jawed yokels. We were asked to move to a different general admission seating area by a guy with a substantial mullet. While at BG everyone was just old. Bowling Green while having not a great core group of students, still brought numbers. Toledo couldn't have even filled up one of their endzone student sections with people combined from both sides + pep band. The Savage Hall announcer sounds like he's molesting me via public address system. Toledo has no dance team, or to be quite honest any girls that were at the game I went to period. The student guy to girl ratio was probably at least 15:1. BG at least had it's hot dance and cheer teams.
Anderson is a nice old barn that you can feel like there's some history in. Savage Hall just feels like it should be made history. It has shag carpet walls from who knows when (do they vertically vacuum it?) The sound absolutley disipates into the arena as opposed to bouncing off the walls and ceilling like at Anderson.
Basically I'll score it like this:
Better City: Toledo
Better venue: BG
Better students: BG (could easily be a push)
Better girls: BG
Better team: BG
Better School? Well I'll let you continue that discussion.
