Actually, in one of those NCAA years (2005, 6 or 7, I can't remember which), they had 12 players on the roster, just like this year's team. I remember they had shirts made up after the championship that said "XII Strong" (or maybe it was just "XII") on the back. The women's program has had incredible luck with injuries -- avoiding injuries, that is -- over the last decade or so. This year, not so much.Class of 61 wrote:falconwomenbball wrote:I disagree. Why have 15 players when you know you won't be playing that many? The players sitting on the bench could cause some chemistry problems which is a big component of our program. A team can't predict the number of injuries we have had this year. We're going to have to deal with the situation we have right now. I hope we will get at Jazz back for Saturday's game. Abby will play when she is ready. Go BG!!
Seems to me that the guys had 15 til Orr left the team. Watching the video hi- lites, the bench was going nuts on every made shot. Cant recall how many women were on roster during the NCAA runs, but sure seemed like more than 12total. And wasn't it only recently that we had a player who came to BG without a schol. Because she wanted to be here. ( finally got the schol. In last 2 yrs. IIRC.)
