Saturday vs LSSU
Saturday vs LSSU
So far, BG has shown up to play. LSSU seems to have shown up to head hunt and whine.
End of the first, BG leads 2-0. BG starts the 2nd with 52 seconds left on a major powerplay.

Wish the stripes would remember they can call penalties on BOTH teams. Apparently, when the coach cries all game he can get his way.jbakerifm wrote:<----much happier BG fan tonight.

Great! Getting chippy seemed to be LSSU's strategy from the very beginning of the series

Great game tonight, night and day from last night. Burke was solid in the net, Berkle had a nice game with two points. Penalty kill looked absolutely unstoppable in the third. Should have had an empty netter (at least two chances at the end) but I can't complain.
Also nice to see Greiner and Delgadillo get some ice time and play solid games.
Their goal keeper actually was pretty solid, even in giving up three. Sure didn't get much help from his defenders tonight. He's definitely something they could build on for the future.

Re: Saturday vs LSSU
Nice post from a Nebraska fan on the Laker's USCHO forum page. This was posted on Sunday:
Don't be too discouraged by the PP from this weekend. BGSU's PK has made everyone look bad. Not saying you don't need a different point man out there, just that what happened to you this weekend happens to everyone.
Nice getting recognition by other hockey fans out there. Another fan posted this on the same Laker page:
It was good to see how many fans are out to support Bowling Green as in the past that stadium was more empty than full and that just goes to show you how important it is to put a winner out on the ice to bring people back in. As the Lakers improve so should the amount of fans that will start showing up for games.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
