Signing day predictions?

Post by Schadenfreude »

Anyone care to look ahead to how our class is shaping up?

We seem to have identified a lot of verbals based on Twitter and that kind of thing. Do we have a sense of how many offers Bowling Green may still have left to give for the 2015 class?

I'm hungry for recruiting news. Anyone care to dish?

From everything I've read, very heavy on defense which is good. Hard to say until down the road but I believe it will be top 5 in the MAC, which would be good considering all the transition of the staff.

Mike,
Hope you're right on the TOP 5 bit as most of the recruiting sites have us as 7th or 8th right now.... I'll take some of that with a grain of salt as they haven't even rated a great many of these kids...ESPN for example, has given us the most 3* kids, and one 4*.....but they've not even rated TEN of the 20+ kids on our alleged list.... so who knows? 247 site seems down on most of the kids giving most 2*.... Saw somewhere that a great many of the guys playing in the Super Bowl were rated as 2* while in HS.... guess it comes from trying to judge 17-18 yr. old kids, many of whom have yet to mature, either emotionally or physically.

I'd also think it'd be harder to evaluate Defensive players as opposed to offense, which will have more stats to peruse.

Losing Rahn Bailey and Eddy Wilson hurts. I thought Bailey may come in and compete day 1 for a DE spot.

Loading up on safeties, Bobo Jones, Sotolongo, and Ferrod Gardner, and Bozeman are all fairly highly rated.

6 linebackers....if everyone signs there will be 16 linebackers on the roster next year.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a few more JUCOs added on signing day. Dino also seems to have a knack for getting transfers, Malik Brown, Clayton Nicholas, Ronnie Rhodes, wouldn't be surprised to see more added...

Is Gardner a "re-commit"? He'd de-committed quite some time ago, hoping for an offer from Missou among others. Last I looked, he was still in that status...could be messing himself up with that stance... But maybe not? :-k

Appears you're right. ESPN has him listed as a BG commit, but, no one else does. He committed, decommitted, said he was announcing his decision, didn't announce, and here we are. Recruiting 17 and 18 year old kids would be a brutal job.

Dylan Harrison is already here. I have met him and he is a big boy. Interested to see how he fits on the OL. After speaking with him, it appears that Elijah Sinapati will not be coming. I think he said academic reasons but don't quote me on that.

A BIG boy? Why would you think 6'7", 335 is big? \:D/

Lucas and Junior would be two names not mentioned before...and I'd assume Harrison would also be on the list, unless we can count him w/last yrs class, since you say he's here already....and I thought we had Seven kids from Fla. Before....I see only five... But it WILL be an interesting day.

Also no BOBO Jones ( to replace Booboo?)... \:D/. Or Bozeman , another Fla. Kid, a DB. wonder if these kids de-committed, or just left off list. Pough, still another Fla. Kid, a WR, not showing.

And Shemer Moss, most recent, from Columbus area, also "missing". Hope Wagner is off on this list, because it could mean a LOT of misses or de-commits.
