BG led 26-12 and was in total control before Akron closed the half with another huge run against us - this time a 17-3 charge - to tie it at the half 29-29.

We simply CANNOT beat Akron!!! BG totally fell apart with Akron's ball pressure and BG couldn't get the loose balls or rebound - Akron just wanted it more and out-worked us. Akron's last-second shot hung on the rim and rolled in and yet ANOTHER heartbreaking loss to these guys at home! Simply crushing. Gonna be a long ride home....

This loss doesn't surprise me. Any loss doesn't surprise me.

The culture of this program for DECADES has been mostly one of losing.

That doesn't change in one year, I don't care how good the coach is. Especially when you've had, arguably, the worst coach in the history of D-1 basketball ruining your program for all those prior years.

Yes, I think he was that bad, and yes I think he did that much damage.

It's going to take a few years to turn this around. Players on the team then have to be gone, and a different mind-set has to take over.

Anyone who thinks Holmes is going to play in the NBA, it can be put to bed after watching his two games against Akron alone. If a guy like Forsythe causes him that many problems, he doesn't stand a chance at the next level.

Holmes didn't play that well but he's been sick for several days.
