Holmes was sick as a dog. He looked awful on the bench. Akron made a bunch of plays down the stretch. They did what winning teams do. The program is headed in the right direction. Just a great college basketball game with the usual god awful MAC officials.

It certainly didn't take long for Jans to realize first-hand what he's up against with BG vs Akron. In his first go-around vs the Zips this season the Falcons were destroyed on the road and had their heart ripped out at home. As we know, fit the last decade, that's par for the course. Congratulations Coach, you've officially been "Akroned" and NOW you are officially BG's head coach.

That game was nearly identical to the one Akron beat us in at home a few years ago when in that ond BG led the entire way until Akron got a basket with 0.9 seconds left in the game for their first and only lead. Tonight was eerily similar.

Hahaha. Ya, I'm pretty sure your more obsessed with Akron than any player or coach on either side. I think Jans is probably more concerned with correcting the mistakes that have haunted his team down the stretch of games. That, and probably getting Holmes healthy. Akron made a ton of plays in the final minute. BG played scared. Simple as that.

Akron Schmakron....if your going to teach your kids how to win there have to be some games where they lose when they shouldn't have. Taking the lesson and learning from it... it's an age old part of the process of building a winner. You get a pass on games like this in your first year..year two is another matter.

Gene Cross was 10 times worse than Orr....Orr was just bad at his job...I don't even blame him. I blame the mook that gave him an extension before he had really done anything here and saddled us with two extra years of Orr. Gene Cross had a kind of a stalky "ladies man" thing going on up there in Ottawa Hills to the point that he was apparently paying zero attention to anything going on in his program. While UT is truly Bancroft Jr High...Cross just about made that program a jayvee squad from some small high school like Indian Valley Gnaedenhutten.

As tough as this one is, I love the direction we're going. Akron expects to win cuz they have for the last decade. Right now, BG hopes to win but it won't be long until we have that same expectation.
