What would people think if BGSU could go Big East

Post by mfdanko99 »

:?:

At this Time I think BGSU and one or two other programs from the MAC could compete in the Big East.

I've been giving my opinion on this for a long time. Our football team would excel but everyone else would have a hard time. Sure over time our recruiting would get better but right away, basketball for one would have a huge change in competition. Really, too many of our programs are behind where football is right now.

That's my 2 cents...

Our men' basketball program would struggle big time. The last two national champs came out of the Big East. I think our football team would be fine but all other sports would struggle. Could you imagine our women's bball team playing UConn every year?

No question other sports would struggle. But, why not give it a shot if given the opportunity? It would provide football, and other sports, to build programs on a new level. But at the same time, Who would want to come play basketball , or any other sport, where the team gets it handed to them year after year. It's an interesting discussion on which way it could go.

This comes up from time to time. I don't believe we're going anywhere. There are other schools more likely to be in the Big East then us. Also, I'm not sure we're ready to make the financial committment to compete at that level. The best thing for BG is to stay in a MAC that continues to become more competitive.

What would people think?

They'd think there was a disturbance in the time-space continuum, because there are a dozen or so schools the Big East would look at before considering Bowling Green.

our football team could do doubt compete in the big east i mean pittsburgh made a BCS bowl and got it handed to htem by Utah and i think we could have taken Utah last year but as far as bball goes we coudl struggle wtih the big boys in that conference but other than those top 3 teams maybe i think we woudl do alright but as far as girls go i dont know enough about their sports to know how they would do but UCONN every year would take a beating on them but then again recruiting would only get better and that only makes the team better
