End of the 1st, BG up 2-0. Goals by Cooper and Mingo. Shots are showing 17-9, in favor of BG.

We look tired the last 5 minutes of that period.

Pretty darn good night for the falcons, until the refs got in the way.

Never heard a group of fans who complain about the referees more than this group. Aggressive teams take penalties....aggressive teams usually win too. Don't get so caught up in it...as long as the penalties are good physical plays and not lazy hooking/slashing type penalties you can live with it.

Too many 5-minute majors, not all of them deserving.

From the Toledo Blade this morning:
"NOTE: Senior Rusty Hafner has been dismissed from the team for an undisclosed “violation of team rules.” The Whitmer graduate had one assist in three games this season and two goals and 14 assists in his BG career."

Nice timing, tonight being Senior Night.

The quality of officiating the last 2 months is laughable. These officials shouldn't be reffing pee wee games. Last night wasn't as bad as the few games before it, but it still wasn't anything I'd expect to see at a Division 1 level. The fact the coaches took a bench minor speaks volumes. There's been many times I've thought they needed to be a little more animated when it comes to some of the call/non-calls. Guess that was their tipping point.

Tonight will be interesting. The loss by Anchorage clinched Huntsville's playoff spot. Goal for BG tonight is to not lose, and not have any injuries.

Don't even know what to think of this. Kid is good enough to travel to Alaska and play, yet doesn't get to play in BG......

I think it was more that Dajon Mingo was yapping pretty loudly! We could hear him yelling at the refs half way up on Section C. :-D I thought HE would get the penalty. Was surprised that he didn't!

Funniest thing was Mingo getting the initial credit for the 2nd goal, then he was interviewed between 1 & 2 and said he wasn't on the ice! LOL!! :supz:

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

We could only hear Eigner and Bergeron in section A. We also heard the ref cuss at McLain earlier in the game.

That sucks for Rusty. Even though he probably did something pretty dumb, I can't help but feel a little bad for a guy who's put in a ton of effort for a minimal return ice time wise ( that could change depending on what he did). I also screwed up royally my senior year of college athletics, at the very end of the season, and it is an awful feeling, although the consequences weren't nearly as severe.
