SR Day tomorrow vs Akron

Post by Falconfreak90 »

I'm glad to make it up for this game. BG has NEVER lost to Akron in BG...EVER. I wanna see us end this ugly streak and get back in the W column.

Erica Fullenkamp, Deborah Hoekstra, Jasmine Matthews and student manager Nick Fine will be honored befor the game.

GO BG!!!

Well, BG was not up to the task. They were close, but couldn't finish it out. 79-71 Akron on the strength of 10-10 free throw shooting by Sina King. Deborah had 17 and 15 on Senior Day and Jazz got 6.9 seconds of PT.

I guess the train wreck is almost over. IIRC Western Michigan is the next opponent.

Abbie has about 4 months before she can start strength training on her shoulder. Sara Baer got some quality minutes.

The Falcons gave us hope for the first 38 minutes of the game, against a quality Akron Zips squad. The Zips have a strong inside/outside game, and when we committed to one, defensively, we'd get burnt by the other. Deb Hoekstra played her heart out the entire game. What an example of heart and hustle to leave to the younger players!!! And Miriam Justinger played a tremendous game, in spite of the physical punishment she's taken from the Zips' physicality. I would guess Deb and Miriam frequent the ice packs and ibuprofen after each game's beatings on their bodies. Sarah Baer also played her best game this year! Although we've fallen short to a couple of very good teams in Buffalo and Akron, we competed well in both games. We just couldn't seal the deal. I wish the Falcons all the best in the MAC tourney! GO FALCONS!!!
