Even though he probably did something pretty dumb, I can't help but feel a little bad for a guy who's put in a ton of effort for a minimal return ice time wise ( that could change depending on what he did). I also screwed up royally my senior year of college athletics, at the very end of the season, and it is an awful feeling, although the consequences weren't nearly as severe.
And today is his birthday. :(

Why was the goal overturned? Kicked in?

As for the officiating, last night seemed... weird, as if the calls were random.

Two weeks ago vs. Northern, the refs hardly called anything. A ref like Langseth would have called roughing after the whistle for many of the "don't you dare touch my goalie!" scrums.

Tate was called for slashing when he went for the goalie's glove. Strukoff retaliated and was given two minutes for roughing. I think he should have gotten more, a double minor or maybe 10. He didn't just do the usual get up under Tate's mask, or a mild cross check. He went after Tate as was Tate was skating away, and he did it again.

It was good to score seven and get the win, but there were holes. Burke gave up some rebounds, and the D didn't clear the puck promptly, and that resulted in second and third chances around the net. It's too bad the guys weren't able to preserve the shutout.

Win tonight and the next two!

Pretty sure the goal was disallowed because of the dreaded "intent to blow the whistle." Goalie had it in his glove, his glove wasn't closed, and the puck was still bouncing around. McLain hit the goalie's glove, which caused the puck to go in the net.

The team owes them for that series a few weekends ago.

There was a ton of action in the Sat night game...up and down the ice and I can't believe the game was scoreless over the last two periods.
