Re: Holmes, Jans Not MPOY & MCOY
Moss was a freaking beast this season, so I'm not surprised that he wont he award. Holmes really made Moss work in their matchup at the Stroh and he struggled mightily in the post that game...I thought that might work in Richaun's favor, but wasn't enough I guess.
As for COY, whatever. Tough to argue with the job Davis has done this year for CMU, but he was also in a position to finally have his own guys in place and it's working for him. What Jans did with a group that has never been to Cleveland for a game is far more impressive to me than a guy winning the league in his 3rd year (about when a good coach SHOULD be winning big).
Jans will win a COY of the year award at some point, and as far as I'm concerned he's the best coach in the league already. Not surprised the awards went the other way, but I couldn't be happier with what we have in Jans and Holmes.

I didn't expect Holmes to get POY, but I expected Jans to get consideration for COY. The fact that Davis got 21 votes and Jans only got 3 is shocking. Both teams had a great rebound from last year, but Central's was just slightly more impressive (10-21 to 22-7 vs. 12-20 to 20-10).
ROLL ALONG!!!

Just dropped by to wish the Falcons well in the post season.
Twenty wins ain't bad for a first year coach. Coach Jans is a winner.
Good luck and shooting against EM.

IMO, Moss is the best player in the MAC. Holmes had a chance to make his case head-to-head one last time but being he was knocked out of the UB game and that closed that door. If BG doesn't lose both of those games and wins just one of them at the end of the regular season, I think Jans gets COY. Remember, we closed out the regular season losing 4 of or last 6. If we win just one of those, we'd have gotten one of the byes and would have had a better seed and I think it would have been hard not to pick Jans as COY after what we were last year. IMO, those measly 3 combined points in the losses to KSU & UB cost us not only the byes to Cleveland, but also Jans from getting COY.
GO BG!!!
