Actually you can and this has been a major bone to pick for me for years. I don't mind paying the current ticket prices because I'm a big fan of bg sports, but a casual fan in the area can get a helluva lot better deal just up the road. Ut continues to offer an awesome budget ticket plan for cheap season tickets that come with parking, food vouchers, and team shop vouchers.

All while we struggle to get fans to hoops and football. Anybody that is a casual fan if the sports and doesn't have an affiliation with either university would be a fool to choose bg. For the life of me I cannot figure out why we don't offer something similar.
Brian,
Not sure if your criticism is totally justified...last I checked I DO get free parking as part of my season ticket package... No, we don't get anything special re: team shop, but even then, I recall getting a special " pre season" booklet, which includes a %off deal at bookstore, at Doyt or in the Union. That leaves only a concessions voucher missing from what you say is included by TU( sorry, but thats what we called them back in the day) =P~
And based on most folks comments about the concessions, is that really a bad thing? \:D/
I recall, and some of you will too, that we used to get a free t-shirt...would much rather have the free parking.
I believe we only give the free parking to premium seat ticket holders, not the cheapest seats. And when you're talking about buying a package of 4 tickets for a family the food vouchers and team shop stuff has a lot of value.

And UT's tickets that include all of this were $70 last year. I'm not sure about last year but for this year our cheapest ticket option is $60 (and that is a 5 game schedule). To me, UT offers a much better value for both men's hoops and football.

Like I said, price isn't an issue for me because if I'm going to get tickets it'll be for BG...I have a connection to the university. For anybody that is debating between the two, though, UT is the much better value (IMO).

Of course, all that being said, I'm not so sure that there are many people out there that are thinking to themselves they wanna buy tickets to one or the other and aren't sure which one. It seems almost everybody here in NWO has a connection to one University or the other that would make that decision for them. The question then becomes are we doing enough to get the Wood County folks who don't have a connection to BG to come to the games? Not sure we are, but I'm not sure what the answers are either.

I was merely stating I get annoyed by always hearing how BG sports are this awesome value that cannot be beat, and those people are comparing it to tickets at a place like OSU. The truth is UT offers better value right up the road, and has for years. And while the concessions aren't real good, they did give us vouchers a few years back and I found it to be a pretty great perk...I know I used all of mine.

Season ticket info has been more or less posted. They have a few links that haven't gone live.

West Side Chairback Premium* $75*
West Side Bench Premium* $65*
West Side Chairback $75
West Side Bench $65
East Side $60
Falcon Four Pack -- Includes FOUR (4) East side season tickets and a season parking pass. $168

^Young Alumni – Recent graduates of BGSU are able to purchase seats in 14L or 16L $40
*These seats require a per seat donation. Chairback is $25 per seat, bench is $10 per seat.
^Young Alumni are considered individuals who have graduated from BGSU within the last four years.

Tickets are less expensive than last year, with only 5 games. But, I think the actual ticket price also went down. The seat donation is minimal.

Overall same incentives as last year, meet and greet with players and coaches, ticket exchange (do people actually use this?), free parking for certain tickets.

I was speaking with a friend about the 5 game home schedule and 3 Saturday games and he made a good point. Had the game against SC State not been cancelled, it would have almost certainly been a Thursday night game, with it falling on Labor Day weekend.

Season Ticket Parking

Post by transfer2BGSU »

I believe they had a few different parking options last year -

Falcon Club members got to park in the grassy lot south of the scoreboard
Non-Falcon Club members got to park out by the soccer fields
Factman and other big $$$$ folks parked in the Sebo lot

No Sebo for me. The grassy scoreboard lot is the place to be! (Except when it pours)

Bgsufalcons has more specifics today on tickets ,... One thing ISN'T very clear...do I have to pay an ADDITIONAL $50 to Falcon club besides the $500 I usually give each year? Could result in me lowering my regular contrib. if that's so. The way it's worded, they want a $25 per ticket contribution to the FC. Could backfire as I've already talked with someone who plans to cut his season tix from 4 to 2...doesn't like the way ticket off call went. I've not received a call, only saw the info online. :-k

If i've read correctly, my season tix would cost $200. ( including the FC contrib.)

I think it's part of the Falcon Club contribution. Seems like a way to get season ticket holders who are not members to donate to the Falcon Club. Similar to what they did with parking last year.

Hopefully the athletic department person who posted on here before could help clear it up. But it seems if you donate $500 every year, there won't be an extra charge for tickets or parking.

Also for anyone who doesn't want to pay in lump for the surcharge. You can set up a reoccurring payment to the Falcon Club. For 4 seats, you can set up the Falcon Club to bill you for $10 a month for 10 months.

Nope. The ticket department has dropped the ball this year with information.

Here's your new parking map....

http://bgsufalcons.com/documents/2015/4 ... pg?id=5376" target="_blank

Parking behind the scoreboard now requires a $250 donation. That lot has gone from free - $100 - $250 in 3 years. Stroh Center lot is season ticket holders, either a $50 parking pass or included with a $120 Falcon Club contribution.

At least with the increase they reduced the number of Saturday games we could tailgate....

I get why they are doing it....but did they have to do it in a season with 3 Saturday games? If you are someone who uses your donation for parking in that lot, you are paying $50 a game to park. And only have 3 real chances to tailgate. $50 at Michigan gets you parking on a freaking golf.

If you're going to annoy the heck out of your most loyal and dedicated supporters it better be for more than the few grand (at best) this might get. The Tennessee "opportunity" at least netted over a million. How much would a group of donors pay to avoid the irritation of incessant announcements of who sponsored every timeout, first down or scratch of the head that occurs during a game?

Just renewed my tix online....if you haven't done it yet, it's not the best system in the world.... it asks you to renew tickets from a different number than your account number with BG....made little sense and I restarted whole thing...then noticed that it was really asking you to renew based on the INVOICE number at top of sheet..... but doesn't indicate that when you're going thru the process. When I put a call into the ticket office to get a clarification, I waited FIFTEEN minutes, listening to how busy the ticket reps were etc.
Awful hard to believe that the ticket reps were ALL tied up for that length of time, unless of course, they've only got one person working. I sent a rather heated email to them which they won't like, but they've GOT to get better at this stuff....or possibly lose customers. ](*,)

This has become very frustrating and annoying. For years season tickets had the same parking area, then as you pointed out, over the last three years it has become musical parking lots having now changed three consecutive times.

I became a season ticket holder years ago mainly from the standpoint of supporting the program as there are certainly times when I can't always make every game (but I still watch them on TV or online) but I didn't let that change the idea of buying tickets. It would have made more financially sense for me to buy single game tickets but I had no problem paying for season tickets even though I would be missing some games knowing I was giving money that way to BG. But now, I'm starting to second guess it. I did renew for this year again but I kind of feel like I'm now being jerked around being a season ticket holder which shouldn't happen.

I get they want more money from us. I understand why too. They want us to be season ticket holders and Falcon Club members. The reasoning isn't lost on me. But what does feel lost is the importance (or lack thereof) of being a season ticket holder anymore. What is the benefit of being a season ticket holder anymore over just buying single game tickets?? Up until three years ago it seemed it have meant a lot more. Now, it doesn't seem any different at all.

So next year when season tickets holders are moved again to either the commuter lots past the field house or the lot beside Anderson Arena, do I pull the plug on season tickets and just buy tickets at the gate so I can reliably figure out where I can park and save money?? :-k
GO BG!!!
