Great article! I know how hard many of us worked in 2008-09 to save the program. Reading this made all that hard work worth it.

Were you at the community meetings we had?jpfalcon09 wrote:Great article! I know how hard many of us worked in 2008-09 to save the program. Reading this made all that hard work worth it.
And yes, that was an outstanding article!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I was a senior in 2008-09 and attended meetings and helped organized students on campus to place signs and encouraged them to write to President Cartwright and the trustees. I also submitted a letter to Bucci in 2009 which he published on his blog, you can read it here:Falcon Fanatic wrote:DUH, never mind, saw that you are in Mentor....Falcon Fanatic wrote:Were you at the community meetings we had?jpfalcon09 wrote:Great article! "Of course, when Bergeron left his post as an assistant coach with a thriving program at the University of Miami, Ohio, he knew it would be a tough challenge".

It's taken 5 years! Well worth the wait! The recruiting is getting better and better. Our Freshman class is 3rd in the nation in scoring with no one ringer of a player! That is incredible! BU is first but most of it is coming from their one, great freshman who will likely be gone sooner than later. BG is back, baby!

Re: Madhouse of the Rising Sun
We were inspired by this great article and how far the program has come since 2008. It inspired us to create this new design for our BGSU hockey collection. It is a great comeback story and awesome to see the program soaring high again. Hope all the Falcon Faithful like it. Roll Along!
