Opponent speculation
We play someone close geographically. Who do you think it will be.
Re: Opponent speculation
I am going to say BG will host a game Saturday at noon and will host the winner of the IPFW - Evansville game.
Re: Opponent speculation
This is how I would personally group it which means this has NO CHANCE of happening . . .
UNH v NJIT (EAST)
James Madison v South Carolina Upstate (EAST)
BGSU v St Francis (Pa) (MIDWEST)
Norfolk St. Eastern KY (EAST)
Eastern Illinois v Oakland (MIDWEST)
La Lafayette v Incarnate Word (SOUTH)
Dartmouth v Canisius (EAST)
TX A/M Corpus-Christi v Florida Gulf Coast (WEST) somebody had to get shipped out
Sacramento St v Portland St (WEST)
Cleveland St v Western Mich (MIDWEST)
IPFW v Evansville (MIDWEST)
UMES v High Point (SOUTH)
Kent v MTSU (SOUTH)
UNCW v Sam Houston St (WEST)
Northern Arizona v Grand Canyon (WEST)
Tenn Martin v Northwestern State (SOUTH)
Also take in consideration when the games are played to give both teams in the next round the same rest . . .
BG and Eastern Illinois both won last night . . . Clev St/WMU and IPFW/Evansville play tonight and could be easily grouped using the above (or similar) format.
My guess is we get Eastern Illinois on Saturday in the Stroh . . .
For those keeping score at home . . .
NJIT won Tues
Upstate won
Eastern KY won
Eastern Ill won
La Lafayette won
Most other games are tonight
Tenn-Martin and NW State play tmrw

Re: Opponent speculation
TBA? I hope not...they have a really good backcourt
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Opponent speculation
Our next opponent should come from this group...
Eastern Illinois
Eastern Kentucky
Cleveland State/Western Michigan winner
Kent State/Middle Tennessee winner
IPFW/Evansville winner
UT Martin (if they advance)

Re: Opponent speculation
I doubt they would put us against Western Michigan or Kent State this early.Rollo83 wrote:Our next opponent should come from this group...

So much for the regionalism theory if that's true. They did announce that we'll host the game on Saturday at 1 p.m.transfer2BGSU wrote:Rollo83 wrote:Our next opponent should come from this group...

Has an Ivy League school ever played in Bowling Green?
Re: Opponent speculation
Well it definitely will be the winner of Dartmouth and Canisius, who plays tonight at 7 p.m. ET.Schadenfreude wrote:Has an Ivy League school ever played in Bowling Green?
I am not sure if an Ivy League school has ever played in BG. But, I regularly refer to BGSU as the Harvard of the Midwest to my friends who didn't go to BG.

Dartmouth did in 1968, Cornell did in 1980, Princeton did in 1984.Schadenfreude wrote:Has an Ivy League school ever played in Bowling Green?
GO BG!!!
Re: Opponent speculation
Canisius it is. Also, WMU was destroyed at home by Cleveland State. If BG can beat Canisius and CSU wins again, that could be a possible opponent because of proximity. We played CSU in the non-conference portion of our schedule but sooner or later overlap with common foes or conference opponents could happen. But first thing's first - Beat Canisius!
GO BG!!!
