BGSU Golf

Post by Falcon137 »

Coach Farrell has done a tremendous job so far in his short stint with the golf program.

After a month off they return to action today at the, Lone Star Invitational. Hosted by UTSA. This is the beginning of 4 events from today through April 19th, leading into the MAC Championships May 1st - 3rd. Included is the stop at the Greenbrier Collegiate Invitational which BG cohosts with Marshall.

Jose Narro very well may be the most talented athlete at BGSU and more than likely the least known.

You can follow the tournament here -

BG finished 9th out of 16 teams. BG and tOSU were the only 2 northern schools there.

This was the first tournament since February and only 2nd since last November. The team improved 12 stroked from the 1st round to the 3rd. Brett Rinker finished -3 overall and was -4 over his last 2 rounds.

"Pablo is one of the strongest golf recruits that BG has ever had. His resume is remarkable and he continues to get better and better every week," Farrell stated

High praise! Welcome to BG, Pablo.

The team shot a final round 269 (-15) from 4 players. Lowest team round in BG history and also set the lowest team round in the event's history.

Finished 2nd out of 16 teams in the Marshall Invite...That is awesome! I'm always jealous of Kent State's golf team and often wondered why BG doesn't seem to ever challenge in the MAC. Hope that is changing.
