Wow! Impressive!

A dozen or so games into an already impressive career, Andrew Hammond is beginning to figure things out.

The 27-year-old rookie became the second goalie in NHL history to give up no more than two goals in each of his first 12 starts, and the Ottawa Senators beat Carolina 2-1 when Mark Stonescored 4:46 into overtime Tuesday night.

Hammond (11-0-1) matched the record set by Boston's Frank Brimsek, who in 1938 also went 12 consecutive games without allowing more than two goals.

Craig Anderson is out again for at least another week so Hammy's going to be carrying the load the rest of the month. The Senators have a huge game tomorrow night against Boston, who lead Ottawa by four points for the final wild card spot.

It was online at SI.com. Was talking about rookies in the NHL. Must have been a good page just an Andrew.

Hammy going to need some offense in the 2nd and 3rd and going to have to play lock down D to maintain his streak. Down 4 - 1 half way through 2nd.

It will be interesting to see what happens with his contract this summer. He's a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

Hammy earned a shutout over the Rangers tonight. Ottawa has one game remaining, and if they win or force an overtime, they'll clinch a playoff spot. They can also get in depending on how Boston and Pittsburgh do. Go Hammy!

Boston losing last night at Florida really hurt them. They're a point behind Pittsburgh and the Pens have a game in hand and two behind the Sens and Hammond with one to play. The Bruins do have the edge over Ottawa on the first tiebreaker (ROW) If Boston doesn't get two points on Saturday, the Sens are in. If the Pens don't get a single point in their two games, the Sens are in.

The Wings are in...24 straight years in the playoffs!!
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
