Updated Roster and Spring Practice

Post by Falcon137 »

Still no announcement on the Spring Game, but, practice is set to begin on March 17th.

A few takeaways from the roster...

Colvin looks to indeed be back.

A healthy Chris Gallon is going to be a monster in the redzone. I forgot just how big he was. 6'4 230.

Depth at DE looks like it will be an issue. But, good size and experience return at DT.

Anyone heard anything about season tickets? Renewals and information usually start coming out around signing day.

I would think we hear something fairly soon about the Spring Game. The full schedule should be released soon as well.

According to a practice calendar that Coach McLeod tweeted, the spring game is on April 11, time is TBA.

The Tupa family have been mainstays in Brecksville since their grandfather played for them "back in my day". He was about 6'4" or so, and we had no one bigger than 6' 1" to try and stop him. Interesting thing about Tim Tupa was that he originally verballed to Miami. Wasn't aware he'd gone to Navy. I've seen him AND Tyler play...both good athletes. Brecksville also has a pretty big TE/DE that we'd offered quite awhile ago....be nice to increase our presence in NE Ohio some more.

From the article ...
When asked what differences fans would see with Ward’s defense, Babers said, “I think we will run a little less zone and a little more man.”
Yes! Our soft zone was a disastrous experiment all last year. I welcome this change.

From the Sentinel-Tribune:

Now add to the mix a new defensive coordinator in Brian Ward, who Babers said will likely bring in more zone packages rather than man-to-man packages.

Looks like there are some numbers changes, judging by the spring photos and videos.

Looks like a #6 and #11 on the defensive line. Not sure who they are....but, they look big! Hopefully the spring game has an updated roster.

Does anyone know what happened to the Australian players who were supposed to be coming? I vaguely remember an article but I can't remember the specifics now.

Just realized you asked the same question back in February! It's still a mystery!

Also saw a #88 at DE. Perhaps Folkertsma switched from TE. I saw #6 and #11 as well and also do not know who they are.
