If support isn't shown now, when will it ever be?

If people don't come out to support this basketball team now, when will they?

No more excuses, no second-guessing the quality of this team. They've produced 14 wins in 21 tries, sit in a tie for first with just five conference games to go, have two legitimate Player of the Year candidates in seniors Josh Almanson and John Reimold and are generally a fun bunch to watch.

This team has more than exceeded expectations and anything less than 3,500 is poor because a crowd that size at any other MAC school would be mediocre at best.

3,500, that is all. Not 4,700 which would be capacity, just 3/4ths of the way full for the remaining three MAC home games.

Don't get your hopes up...mine have already been let down too many times. Until we make the Final Four, attendance will be weak...

Football team has had 2 straight back-to-back bowl victories and can't sell out to save their lives.

Just somehow cause a major blackout on campus and have a mysterious vanishing of all the alcohol in the city. That should solve a few problems.

I hesitate that your question will be answered, and not how you imagined. We are, last time I looked, 12th in the MAC in attendance. I don't know why, but there isn't a strong bond between the basketball program and the community or students, as there has been in the past. I don't expect a big crowd for Wednesday.

It's Kevin Netter's fault. His arrogant attitude turned off students last year.

Kevin Netter shall forever be blamed for everything that harms the town, school, and teams of BG :)

I have bashed Kevin's play as much as anyone on these boards, but I also know him personally. I never found him to be too arrogant. In fact I thought he was a good guy, a goofball. He just never put his head together to play well on the court. Off the court I don't think I can say too much bad about Kevin.

I talked with Kevin on several occassions and found him a very polite and cordial person. Plus, it was alway fun standing my 4'11" wife next to him for juxtopostion.

Netter could never be mistaken for the "sharpest tool in the tool box." I think that showed through in his play. He had very little acumen for the game of basketball.

Guys with a lot less physical ability than Kevin, have had good, if not great, careers in the MAC.

Kevin was in my health class and he was super nice and very involved in class. From my experience, he was a really nice kid, never arrogant. On the basketball side of things, it's just too bad he never played to his full potential. I think Scott's playing better than he ever played right now. I'm so glad he doesn't bounce the ball off his own foot.

Agreed on all accounts, except Kevin was in my TV class, not Health. And he failed it, because he didn't take the final. Other than that I could make the same comments. :)

I had a geology class with him when he was a freshmen, and he was rarely there. When he was you could bet he was in the back sleeping. I wasn't surprised his sophomore season when DD suspended him for class skipping.

I too agree that we was a nice guy. I worked in the GT in mac for 4 years and he was a frequent customer. I would always ask him about the games and he was generally friendly. His super duper meal plan would be in the negatives by March. The boy loves milk and OJ. You can't blame his weight on not eating either he was always eating.
