Thats Awesome. Stacey seems to just fit in the BG world.

Confirming what a few of us "found out" a few hours ago but the good news keeps on rolling!
Can't think of a better recruiter . . . I think kids will LOVE Anthony like many of us who've sat down with him have . . .

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, more embodies being a Falcon than Anthony freaking Stacey.
Simply awesome news! He should recruit well, he should have plenty of HS/AAU connections from his HS days, and his success at that level certainly would indicate the man can coach as well.
It will be so freaking awesome to see him on the sidelines for us!

20 laps for that "right colors" BS he fronted at Toledo last year.
Awesome hire though!

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Huger possible assistants
If we're talking purely reunion, I cannot find if Keith McLeod played this past year...he had played in 13-14 in Europe, but don't know about 14-15. If he's done playing, wonder if he'd wanna jump into coaching? Obviously it'd have to be at the far end of the bench, perhaps DOBO (isn't that where people often start into coaching)?
Dunno if it'd interest him, and don't know if he's the best coaching candidate for the job...but since we're talking about bringing back former Falcons, it's a thought.

Re: Huger possible assistants
Sounds like his staff is pretty well filled, and he only mentioned one BGSU alum, when we were talking to him post presser. Didn't mention any other names, not even Stacey, but told us about him in "code"! Great to see all of the other past players at the press conference and post meet and greet. Ed Colbert, Anthony Stacey, Juan Street, Derek Kizer, Matt Otto and Len Matela (Michael played against Lenny in Europe), and I'm sure I forgot some.

Merfeld was a Larranaga assistant when Huger played here. To have Merfeld as an assistant to Huger would be an odd sight indeed.mscarn wrote:Merfeld would be great. Associate Head Coach Geno Ford sounds pretty good as well. Someone with MAC experience from his staff like Jaden Uken would also work.

Anthony Stacey is my all-time favorite Falcon. With all due respect to Keith McLeod, NOBODY has ever brought more manhood or will to win to the Falcon basketball court than Anthony Stacey. I'm beyond excited to see Huger and Stacey on our sidelines again!!!!
