C Alonzo Campbell Gahana Lincoln 6-11 C

Serious ankle injury knocked him out all year
I cant find any tape.
He apparently just did a showcase on the 20th and then we offered. I believe he is number 32 in any videos we may see of Gahana in 2013-2014 but I can't seem to track one down. A recruiting reported indicted that he improved drastically over the summer.

It looks like he barely played as a junior although it was behind 2 big time recruits in Matt Moyer and Nick Ward

Re: Recruiting 2015
I am very disappointed if it is true that we offered Alonzo Campbell, A rail thin center that was hurt all year. No one else wants him. We don't need another tall guy that hasn't averaged 10ppg in high school. We must get assistants that can deliver recruits (good ones).

We definitely have had enough terrible big men. http://stats.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2014 ... drorie3xde" target="_blankcommonsense wrote:I am very disappointed if it is true that we offered Alonzo Campbell, A rail thin center that was hurt all year. Im reading alot about him improving going into his senior year and that could be the case.

A bit of a report from a reporter who saw him play
Zach Fleer @ZachFleerLGHL 2h2 hours ago
He's a slim 6-foot-10/11 forward. He is more of a "stretch" four as he can consistently knock down perimeter jumpers

For his size, Campbell is very athletic. He runs like a deer. And he is a good kid that plays really hard. He's a project at D1

@r_wilh With his size, skill, and athleticism, he is definitely an intriguing prospect with lots of upside. Will be fun to watch

OK - he's got quick feet - I'll give him that. Let's hope he's great friends with Nick Ward and they come to BG in package deal....Globetrotter wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPGpcLNSTIM#t=112

I think he is #31 in these videos.

After the first one goes just let it run and it will automatically go into the next videos. He might just be the least effective player in this game.

Sometimes I laugh bc the information that Globe and I receive is so similar that is seems like we must be talking to the same ppl. To my knowledge, I don't have a clue who you are ... lol.
This is the text I got from my buddy who has FAR more connections than I do.
"Kid is coming off a nasty break in his leg. He can definitely defend at the MAC level but is green offensively. He's the type of kid who will be All MAC by the time he's a junior after a quiet couple of years."
I know these guys, I trust these guys and their judgment ... Sign me up!

Great to hear. I struggle to see that in the video but that was before the summer and in April. I am a bit gunshy after Rorie-Gomez and Mayleben. This feels a bit more like an Orr signing than a Jans signing.OptionQB wrote:Sometimes I laugh bc the information that Globe and I receive is so similar that is seems like we must be talking to the same ppl. Re: Recruiting 2015
You could add Worrell to that mix as well. As the coaching staff felt he was not ready to play ahead of Gomez and Mayleben, even down the stretch for a championship. Were Jans' recruits that good that we have to still bash Lou Orr? Pep Joseph, Jovan Austin, Delvin Dickerson?Globetrotter wrote:

Yes, he recruited 2 starting point guards when we had none all year and didn't want to pull a redshirt on a guy. Im confident Worrell will prove better then Mayleben and Gomez.commonsense wrote:You could add Worrell to that mix as well. If we lose Jamir Andrews we've lost a lot . This kid is a real project, didn't play much as a junior at 6'10"?? Hurt as a senior? Huger will be ok but this could a project program for awhile.Globetrotter wrote:Yes, he recruited 2 starting point guards when we had none all year and didn't want to pull a redshirt on a guy. Re: Recruiting 2015
We DON'T HAVE TIME for 6-10 projects with uncertain ceilings. We should take a 6-7 or 6-8 kid that can play or sit on the scholarship. Campbell can go to a JC to establish himself. We have 13 scholarships and, outside of Parker, no established frontliners returning, and even Parker missed expectations.

Re: Recruiting 2015
TIME? Michael has a 6 year contract, so what's the rush? Nate Thurmond was a 6'7" project and he turned out ok!
Re: Recruiting 2015
Very few 6-11 guys ready to make an immediate impact show up in the MAC. We have Worrell which many have described as rail thin but very athletic who hopefully has put on enough weight to compete in the post this year.
Friday is coming in and another big body but more of the stretch 4 variety.
If Worrell can give us 20-25 min/night, Gomez fills in for 10-12 and Mayleben can find 5-8 to spell both then I think we could be ok to redshirt Campbell.
That would then give us a R-Soph, R-JR and R-Fr in the post the following year and I'll take my chances with that.
The most effective MAC lineups I've seen have had a solid point guard, a knockdown shooter, a couple slashers and a competent big man.
