6 recruits

2 Freshman
1) Dimencio Vaughn, 6-3 185 Guard NYC-Mississippi for SR year
Connections: Miami showed interest and he is from NY
http://verbalcommits.com/players/dimencio-vaughn" target="_blank
Vaughn looks like a gritty 2 who can do just about everything. Played this year with a guy who just committed to Miss State. Has a Bunch of offers. Can dunk.

2) Londell King, 6-7 Tallahassee
Connections: Offered by FIU who is out of schollies. Our HC coached with their assistant coach Gilliam
http://verbalcommits.com/players/londell-king" target="_blank
Looks super athletic and long. Seems like a very good guy to be a backup F at both spots and looks like he has the skillset to eventually be a star.

1 JUCO Transfer
1) Mike Davis, Lakeland Community College in Cleveland
Was the league MVP avg 20ppg shot 40% from 3, 2.3a, 4.3r
http://stats.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2014 ... edavis103e" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKeQ69_0crY" target="_blank
I see no recruiting stuff on him at all. His numbers look good though.

2 SR Tranfers
1) Ge'Lawn Guyn 6-2 185, Cincy SR Transfer
Connections: Played in the state for 4 years, looking for a place to get some PT
http://verbalcommits.com/players/ge-lawn-guyn" target="_blank
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... 'lawn-guyn" target="_blank
Didn't have great stats at Cincy but saw a lot of minutes his 3rd year. Can transfer and play right away from what I read. Also read that he was Cincy's best on ball defender.
Here is a shaky 5 year old video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPTZRTjNiLw" target="_blank

2)Luke Moyer, Pennsylvania-Campbell, 6-0 SR Transfer
Connections: Played in Penn, Started at Richmond and then transferred to Campbell
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/luke-moyer" target="_blank
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... luke-moyer" target="_blank
Great outside shooter and quick, not a distributor based on stats but has nice handles. Could be a capable second pg.

1 JR Transfer
1) Dominique Williams 6-7 205, FIU and Charlotte
Connections: Played at FIU and our coach coached with their assistant.
http://verbalcommits.com/players/dominique-williams--2" target="_blank
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... e-williams" target="_blank
2014-24mpg, 6.9ppg, 4.5rpg
In the wake of our new hire as an assistant several of the names above make even more sense.

Kentucky's reaching pretty deep into the pool. That whole platoon system they tried will impair their recruiting with big-time prospects for years to come and might precipitate Calipari leaving for the NBA.

What? So Calipari will have trouble getting talented players to come to Kentucky and will leave for the NBA? is that your final answer?

No...how many UK guys are going in round 1? How many in round 2? You got seven guys getting drafted from UK...four likely in round 1. Fine..the JUCO kid is a guy they might not normally sign, but they have the #1 C, the #1 PG and a **** SG coming in. And they're still in the running for that Brown kid out of GA who's the #1 SF. Calipari gets kids because his kids get drafted

I have no problem with the way he runs his program.

I like Calipari as well, but the fact they used a platoon was devastating to their recruiting efforts this year and could establish a pattern that will prompt him to throw up his hands on the whole thing. The five star PG and C committed before the platoon system was as publicized as it was. This is not speculation; it comes from the comments of the players themselves and their parents. Zimmerman, Rabb, Newman, Ingram, Diallo...and Kentucky lands none? That's a pattern and one of the perils of recruiting big ego players. They'll always get talent but perhaps not as much as before.
