Nice to finally beat them in a men's sport (see: football and basketball). Too bad this was a non-conference game but still feels good. I like playing this back-to-back, home-and-home with them since we don't play in the MAC regular season.

Great game, great weather and great crowd! Nice to see most of the volleyball team and coaches there, as well as the freshmen women's basketball players and many from the football team! Trevor was lights out on the mound for his first win of the year. :drinkers: :D

The scuds crashed and burned, which always makes it a good day! :supz:

I don't get that at all....like when we only play them one time in men's and women's hoops. But we'll play NIU and Ball State twice a year.

It's because we only have the "protected" scheduling in football. The same thing would happening in other sports if our rival was another MAC West team too. It just stands out a lot more when it happens with Toledo than any of the other West schools. This is one of the downfalls of increased conference sizes and divisions. I still miss the days when we used to play everyone in football and everyone home and away in basketball each and every year. But those days are long gone. Not just for the MAC, for other cinference too. But as I mentioned, in years we don't play Toledo such as this season, I like that we at least do a home-and-home non-conference mid-week series like this. I'd rather do that than schedule some random team to fill the mid-week void. It also helps keep travel costs down and allows local fans a chance to see both games.
GO BG!!!
