Somebody (BSCN?) is making noises that Austin is not leaving.....

Wow. I guess we'll know in about 2 more weeks. That, or on October 15 :-)

After tweeting he was leaving I'm not sure I'd trust him much to stick around.

There are rumblings from ppl who SHOULD KNOW that the number of people actually leaving was a bit high.

Friday is confirmed
Dickerson and Austin are confirmed

That MAY be it ... Checking a few other places as well

If Denny and Parker stay, we'll be competitive in the MAC East.

Until Andrews signs elsewhere I have to think we have a legit shot at keeping him too. The staff has had a few weeks now to get to know him and his game.

G- Joesph, Hluchoweckyj, Austin (?)
G- Alcegaier, Tisdale
G- Denny, Andrews (?)
F- Parker, Worrell
C- Wiggins, Gomez, Mayleben

Room to add one more

I really hope that someone (Blade, BGnews, Tribune, etc.) in the media asks where this transfer talk all came from if none of these homies are going to actually transfer.

I also hope they don't ruin next year for coach Huger if they come back and just wish coach Jans was here the entire time.

Seems like a big step down to go with Albany. They will be an upperclassman laden team next season with 11 players in the Sr.-Jr. Classes. Andrews is viewed as a SG and Albany has 5 scholarships at that position.

Albany made the dance last year and are extremely well coached. This is not a "step down" it's anothet competitive mid major league. Andrews is stepping into a winning situation with a solid program and good for him. Wish he was here because I think his tape was solid but good luck to him.

After doing some research I still stand by my comment that it is a step down. Albany was certainly the class of a weak conterence last year but their RPI at 99 was behind 4 MAC teams and BG was only slightly worse at 109. So yes Albany has a good program in a league in which the average RPI is 236 where the MAC is 140. The American East was an inferior conference and unless Albany is moving to a different cuonference in the near future, I consider it a step down particularly in competition.

The MAC is definitely superior to the America East top to bottom, no doubt. I wish I could say that BG is superior to Albany, but I cant. Albany made it to the dance in 06, 07, 13, 14, 15. And they have won back to back first round games in 14 and 15. So I guess who cares about competition when you are consistently going to the NCAA and now even winning games?

Really, all mid-major conferences seem to blur into one large amorphous swamp of anonimity, with the occasional flare sparked by an unusual short-timer coach, a single misplaced superstar, or some cosmic alignment of happy coincidences (Kent 2002, George Mason 2007).
