"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I just hope it has a BIG buyout, because coaches contracts are normally not worth the paper they are written on for the university, otherwise. He could leave anytime he wanted if one of the "big boys" liked him enough and decided to pay the buyout.

We gave a Miami guy a five year extension? What was Kingston thinking?!?!?!

Seriously, glad That Miami Guy got the extension and very impressed with what he has done with the squad. Now that he has his players and they have bought into his system, the results are there. Great to be able to go out and recruit and let prospective players know you're going to be around for a while (until some other school wants to pay his buy out).

Does this include a pay raise? He was making $170,000 in 2013.

Rename The Ice Arena to Bergeron Hockey Barn and that will make it impossible for him to consider leaving.

Love, love, love this move! Hockey program finally has the stability it needs and is ready to take the final step of getting back to the NCAA tournament under Bergeron. Also, thought it was noteworthy how close Berge and Jeff Blashill are. Makes me even more excited Blash will be coaching the Red Wings with having a tie to BGSU.

100% agree. I was more than a little worried that Blashill might have wanted Bergeron to go with him to Detroit... Even though I knew that Berge doesn't have the pro coaching experience...yet,....it still worried me....a bit!

Blashill is a great fit in Detroit. Chris Chelios might be one assistant and... if they can talk him into it... Tony Granto will return as a hold over from Babcock's staff.
