If you're still bitter 13 years later, you'll always be bitter. Yes he lied. What kind of dream do you live in that the top 1-2 coaches of the last 30 years is going to stick around in Bowling Green a minute longer than he needed to? 2001-4 were fun seasons and that can mostly be attributed to him. No we didn't win a MAC championship but each one of those seasons was more exciting than 2013 (my opinion ).

I guess you are one of the few maybe only one who has never lied at his job?

I know if I'm employed somewhere and I was seeking other employment I still act like I'm all in with the current employer until the next job is secured. Anything different is stupid.

I'm not a liar.

Urban Meyer could have handled his exit better.

Wow...he lied...he was imperfect and you'll never forgive him. The sun must shine out of your ass to have such standards for others

Of course he could have handled it better. He didnt. No matter what his answer that day was he was ultimately not going to please anyone at BG. He tells the truth and says no I don't plan on staying here, I already have one foot out the door makes him look like an asshole too. Just an honest asshole instead of a lying asshole

31 players were arrested while Meyer was at Florida.

I love his coaching style and the way his teams play. His success has only helped get the BG name out there more, I just hate he's at OSU...

There's a difference in keeping things close to the vest and having a huge article published in the Sentinel-Tribune days before proclaiming your intentions to stay and finish the job (among many, many other things too numerous to mention). That was cold. As has been brought up multiple times over the past year, BG is indeed a unique and special community and deserved more from its head football coach.

Not surprisingly, the same thing happened to the Utah folks and our two fan bases combined can't match the emnity the Florida Gators have towards him. Drunk with his tonic, the OSU people think they're immune but he'll do the same thing to them and they'll join the club too. What's particularly upsetting is that he at least left (or will leave) the other places with rings while we got bupkis.

Also, there's some logical inconsistency with those who want us out there playing Tennessee, Michigan State and whatever Big State U. comes calling yet appear content to see us treated as a doormat and accepting of the status of an insect in the greater ruthless animal kingdom of major college athletics when it comes to coaches and the fiscal inevitabilities underlying their arrivals and departures. Seems you can't have it both ways.

He took Utah from nowhere to the top five and on to the PAC 10...any Utah fan that isn't happy with him needs to have their head examined. So far as Florida goes..he coached them to two of their three national championships. I'm sure Gator fans were torqued with him for leaving because his departure coincide with their descent into mediocrity.

What did you expect Urban to say? I'm out of here, good luck with everything and I'll be sure to write? He was put in a tough spot because he knew he wanted to advance his career and wasn't going to jeopardize anything he had going on at BG. Be mindful, this was all before social media and the million insiders who typically end up reporting news well in advance of actual announcements being made. The man did what he had to do professionally and there's no shame in that. We should be happy that he at the very least participates in events like these and promotes the BG brand. He's a very large ambassador for the school whether you like him or not and the school doesn't have to pay for that kind of publicity.

Don't care about Florida. Here at BG didn't have those problems. Not sure the coach runs a big time program. Boosters, agents and projected draft picks run those types of programs as much or more than the coach.

If he said he was looking recruits run. If he says he's not and leaves the fanbase is angry. The no win world of a head coach.

Facilities were/are good enough to win but not wow. Coaches always want a new toy to show recruits. The nature of college athletics.

Don't forget, Urban also had to deal with his wife. Lol. I think she was the one pressing for the move to Utah.

There is one thing I have always wondered. When Urban took his leave of absence due to stress and heart conditions at Florida, does any think it's possible he took a year off because he knew about Aaron Hernandez issues while at Florida. The murder case in Florida hasn't been resolved. Hernandez has been charged with 2 more murders down in Florida. Do you think it's remotely possible than Urban was aware of this and he remained playing for the Gators? The stress got too much for Urban to handle. I have wondered the past few years if that led to Urban leaving Florida
