Jovan Austin is going to Texas AnM Commerce next year. A D2 school.

One of our recruits who was offered by Jans but tore his ACL late in the process, Brady Ernst, is going to Iowa State.

Novian Cherry is our final open offer with one scholarship to go.

He was offered in July by Jans and co and might not be a legit offer any more.

We have one scholarship left. I hope we use it.

Seems to be a rather religious young man, based upon tweets.... Also looks like only ONE yr. of elig., unless he gets an OK from NCAA. (Also might need approval thru clearinghouse) :-k

I guess I wouldn't be surprised if he sat on the scholarship. We have A list of 14 guys as recruits for next season and 3 scholarships graduating. I still want to see them use it though, if there is someone out there who they think can score now and maybe redshirt 2-3 of the incoming freshmen.

With how many Senior transfers there are out there I would at the very least grab one of them. We are not playing for lower draft picks next year. Get as much talent as possible.

1. Deuce Bello 6-4 Guard Missouri-Baylor

* I'd sign this guy just for the warmup dunks. Former 4 star recruit, great athlete.

2. PJ Boutte 5-8 PG IUPUI-Detroit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF4Sl-2EpEM" target="_blank

*Can never have enough PGs

3. Jordan Daniels 5-10 Drake

4. Ben Dickinson 6-9 UNC Greensboro
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... -dickinson" target="_blank
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/ben-dickinson" target="_blank
*Averaged 13.5 games as a Freshman but has already been to 3 schools. Certainly would be an interesting option and we could use a 1 year big rental.

5. JP Kambola 6-8 Marshall
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/j-p-kambola" target="_blank
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... jp-kambola" target="_blank

6. Willy Kouassi 6-10 Kennessaw St

http://georgiabasketballblog.com/willy- ... saw-state/" target="_blank
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/willy-kouassi" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hKoRANP_eo" target="_blank
* Began his career at Auburn and is a defensive center and athletic. Former 3*+

7. Luke Moyer 6-0 Campbell
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... luke-moyer" target="_blank
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/luke-moyer" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a98YfPgysc" target="_blank
* Could really stretch the floor and would be fun to root for.

If they don't use the scholarships they should give it to the baseball, softball or tennis team.

We have a new coach who has to acquaint himself with the holdovers and learn fully what the new guys can do and the figure out how to integrate the parts into a functioning whole. If he doesn't think there's a player out there who can help us...who's worth spending the time on...and one year isn't worth it in most cases...why sign anyone else?

LOL. I am sure they will use it. Just curious how. This isn't the mickey mouse stuff we went thru a few years ago. It's completely illogical not to use all of your scholarships.

Agree. Putting an unhappy player on scholarship only to have a negative vibe while they watch their final year of eligibility run out is a liability not a help in my opinion.

Thomas Schmeltz (Sentinel-Tribune) tweeted earlier today that we have 1 scholarship remaining. Huger indicated the only way he uses it this year is for a transfer big or a 5th year player.

I would assume anyone who was on their last year and didn't have a place to play would be happy just for an opportunity.
