Recruiting 2015 (After Huger Hire)

Thomas Schmeltz (Sentinel-Tribune) tweeted earlier today that we have 1 scholarship remaining. Huger indicated the only way he uses it this year is for a transfer big or a 5th year player.

There are 2 guys that have one year left that I think we are targeting, both guards. Just speculation based on twitter follows but they would make sense.

Wow, another offer per Verbal Commits for a 2016 PG made today. Makes 6 or 7 in that position though this one is a 3 Star. Carlick Jones is 5'11" from Cinci Aiken. Buffalo and BG made his 1st two offers today and he tweeted later that E. Tennessee also offered.

Last year's DBO Jeff Clapacs is now the DBO at East Tennessee. Their first year coach is Steve Forbes, who served with Jans as an assistant at Wichita State.

Pretty late in the season for a 2015 recruit but he picked up six offers in practically the same week of July. Of those six, UNCW, Tulane, and TCU all have over subscribed classes per Verbal Commits at 15, 15, and 14 respectively without Mitchell. Why this would occur, I haven't the foggiest. So that leaves BG with an opening in competition with Stetson (1 opening) and Youngstown (2 openings). Of course, he also could go JUCO.

Frankly..I don't think a guy who weighs zero pounds has much of a future in college basketball.

Looks like we will go with 12 scholarship players next year. One day after a Texas A&M SG transferred to Wichita, A&M offered Mitchell and he accepted.
