I believe this was posted in the hockey forum but it might get some more views here. Cleveland.com is doing a story on Ohio universities and the amount they spend on athletics, scholarships and student fees used to fund athletic programs. I believe the BG News ran a similar article this year.
Some interesting points:
$12.7 million came from student fees in 2013-14, making up 63% of the overall athletic budget.
BG is tied with Kent State for the lowest amount of scholarship dollars offered by an Ohio MAC school at $5.8 million.
BG has $52.4 million in athletic debt>
