He is still listed on the roster though, so that's a good sign.

Same with Malik Brown, not on the 2-deep at the moment. 4 new walk-ons listed as well.

A few notes after looking over the depth chart.

Not too many surprises at all on offense. Ryan Hunter is listed ahead of Ben Steward (started all 14 games last year) at LG. I was expecting to possibly see Robbie Rhodes in the two-deep. The fact he isn't probably speaks to one, the amount of talent and depth we have at WR, and two, it raises a few questions about his status (health and discipline) and where he stands. The rest of the two-deep at QB, RB, WR and OL as well as on Special Teams were as I expected.

On defense the obvious blows are losing starters Bryan Thomas at DE and Nick Johnson at CB in the off-season. Malik Brown (Tennessee transfer) is not in the two-deep. I thought we might see him there, but I gotta say, there were guys flying around at DE in the spring game so despite losing our top three DE's in Thomas, Walker and Montgomery, hopefully there is great competition there. The DT's were exactly how I expected. The two-deep at LB had the most "news" if there was any. Austin Valdez and James Sanford open camp as the #1's at OLB, while Aaron Banks gets the nod at #1 MLB. If you remember Banks was moved from MLB to OLB last spring. Trenton Greene and Nilijah Ballew are the listed backups at OLB and Nate Locke is the backup MLB. We all pretty much knew Darrell Hunter and Clint Stephens were our best CB's and backing them up will be Marcus Milton and Alfonso Mack. Notre Dame transfer Eilar Hardy was listed #1 at SS.

Quintaz Wright appears to be from D-III Millikin University and I wonder if Tavarus Wade is "Tavaraus" Wade from the College of Dupage?

Media day is this afternoon at 1:00 so hopefully we'll get some answers regarding Brown and Rhodes. It would certainly be a shame if those guys aren't able to go because of injury or disciplinary issues.

Hopefully Rhodes and Brown emerge as camp plays out. Both of those guys were expected to be impact players, Babers currently 0-3 in transfers.

Getting Colvin back is big for the dline. But, they could get abused on the edge. Lunsford not listed on the 2 deep is a little surprising.

238, 287, 255, 238. That's tiny.

Good AM guys,

Are the preseason notes up on the official site? looking to print out the depth chart but for some reason the official site really lags on the work network. If there is another source, cool. Like I'm working 29 days from kickoff on a Friday??? Thanks and GO FALCONS.

Another transfer not listed on the two-deep is Georgia Tech RB Donovan Wilson. He looked impressive in the spring game and was running hard, he was very physical. If he picks up where he left off in the spring I fully expect to see him get some playing time this year. Especially in short-yardage situations or down on the goal line. Last season we missed having William Houston in those type of situations and sometimes Andre Givens wasn't the answer. I think we now have the solution in Wilson this year.

That is beyond tiny.. Abused on the edge and up the gut, The more I read about Tennessee the more I think that game will get ugly. Their back is 240.

Few notes from today:

Johnson says he's 100% and ready to go, very eager to get camp and the season started. Said the team is treating the opening slate of games as if they're MAC games.

Austin Valdez was positive about the defense, he thinks they'll surprise some people. Always going to hear that at the start of the season no matter what so we'll see if they can back up their talk.

O-line has dropped a combined 150 pounds to better grasp the tempo of the offense, Huettel and Dietz specifically said they expect knockdowns on every play.

No information given regarding Brown or Rhodes, I imagine once practices begin tomorrow we'll get more reports about who is playing where. There are a handful of walk-ons who might get a chance to make an impact.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
